hi, im interested in buying tt superbikes for the ps2 which comes out in the uk on friday the 22nd april, i have a bad feeling its going to be a dissapiontment, as with most games that get shipped without being reviewed have something to hide. has any others come across any reviews , ie in magazines or internet.

Im sorry but 6 out of 10 in opsm2 is a ****ing disgrace!
I got the game friday and have been playing it solid ever since.
This is my first motobike game as I usually just stick to car games.
The graphics are superb, its absolutely spot on correct, it flies at 60fps with no slowdown,
The handling is brilliant, the game structure is good.
The only downers I can see are there's nowhere where it keeps your fastest lap times
which is a bit wierd since thats the whole point of the TT.
I have played motogp and motogp2 but they didnt make me want to continue playing.
TT superbikes does.
Even Gran turismo doesnt give a sensation of speed as good as this game.
Today when I was going 160mph through a village using the inbike cam
I thought I was going to need a change of pants its that scary!

I really want to read that crap review to see what its been marked down on.
The only thing i can see is its quite hard.. But to me thats a good point.

When a developer has the balls to do a game thats a niche market with no possible yearly updates and the 'official' mag doesnt bother to review it properly .... grrr makes my blood boil.

to sum up..
it kicks complete a$$ but wouldnt be suitable to big pansies so 8.5 out of 10
Its miles better than any motogp there has been.
Cheers

^ i agree 👍 1 thing i like about it is its so goddam hard, played it fairly solid last few days and ive got nowhere :nervous: not even unlocked a bike :guilty:, though u can still use 1000cc beasts from the outset. like peat said when using the view where can see the visor and handle bars, the sense of speed is great when going 160mph ( + on the box it says you can go upto 200mph, cant wait :dopey: .)
that "mad sunday" mode looks intersting cant imagine trying to dodge traffic as well
as trying to keep the beast on the road :nervous:

whats your best time peat on the full TT course? mine is,wait fot it...................
26min and 32sec :indiff: thats with expert handling,no ***** brake asisst, terrible i know but ive only gone round 3 times :guilty:

bottom line not the bike sim im longing for(suppose ill stick to sbk2001) but no where near as arcady as the moto gp sereis, its kinda like a updated verson of road rash without the violence

Dam!
I havent even opened up a full lap of the TT yet.

My best time on the southern 100 was 2.20 on a 1000cc
also did 2.21 on a 250cc. Using expert and inbike cam.
Not sure if thats any good though.

Right I'm off to beat 26 mins on the TT then :)

I think 6 out of 10 is a joke also.If you're a biking fan then get this game.I've only been getting golds on the challenge mode so i havn't unlocked the full track yet,its taking me ages.

The only gripes i have are that you can't race the full track straight away and the loading times are soooooooo long.I want the option to get straight back on the challenge if i don't get gold, and not to be sent back to the main page.

I ain't done much of the challenge mode just the 125 test thingy and that cup under it, To get the full tt course go to arcade mode, choose a class then work your way down, think u only have to do 2 races i think then its open :)

btw now down to 19min

I would say if your a racing fan get this game as well as biking fans.

I managed to unlock the tt lap by winning golds in the arcade mode.. just do each 250cc race going downwards and you get the tt lap. (or any cc you like really)

On 250cc
intermediate my fastest was 19.57
expert was 23.01 I must have fell off about 8 times.

I tried again on intermediate but got 20.05. I managed to get through all the hard corners that time but fell off on stupid places like Glen Helen! dohh

...............Waaah what a game!

It arrived in the post friday and by monday evening my wife was going to leave me and the kids for some one else!!

Worth the wait, finished the side car event in arcade mode so I get to do the Island. The short races/challenges you have to do before you unlock the main Island course is well structured starting you off at the beginning of the lap a working you round in sections, you can get a mental map forming as you progress further into the game and finally when you get to do the full lap the little sections all fall into place although it is still VERY challenging!

I’m in career expert mode at the moment and you have to get the braking spot on, you can adjust the riders weight while braking into a corner with the toggle/steering, push all the way forward (while steering sits the man low on his bike thus more speed) he will do a “stoppy” back wheel will go up behind you and with the toggle pull back the bike will snake all over the road as you have to balance it from hard braking at the front for the first initial slowing down to moving it back at a slower speed, Awesome!

Good technique is slow in lean the bike over keeping your speed and on the exit giving it large as they say! nice black lines can been seen all the way down the road.

Get it it’s very addictive, not easy but once you have mastered setting the bike up for the corners it all becomes second nature.

One more thing is the A1 riders do tend to lean on you and if you use them for your brakes they will repay the compliment.

............more thoughts on the game.
Bikes are the most realistic handling I have come across in any PS2 game so far, push them to much and the front will fall from under you, to much throttle will result in a tank slapper, and to much at the start or slow corner will result in a wheely or even you sitting on the tarmac “black stuff” looking at your bike hurtling down the road!

In a race all the bikes are evenly matched so you have to get a tow down the straights in order to over take (100 cc class especially). The A1 has a mind of it’s own, they will block you, lean on you, try to out brake you resulting in them cashing and sometimes not.

Hold down R2 full throttle turn bike and he/she will do a nice black doughnut for you, straighten up the wheel and watch back end snake down the road until it grips up and away you go (big grin).

........... must get some sleep soon or reload GT4!

I started this post off by asking where the reviews of this game where, thinking I smelt a rat, as it's usually a sign of a bad game that slips into the shops without being reviewed, I got a reply saying it got 6 out of 10 in official uk psm, I thought oh no, i guess I wont be buying that, I thought id go looking for more reviews and found readers reviews on amazon.co.uk and out of the dozen reveiws there was not one bad word about, so i set off to my local game store and bought it, got home stuck it in the ps2 and away I went, what a good game I thought, the only thing that i felt slightly dissappointed about was the turning at slow corners, but that was down to me leaning the bike over too much and falling off, ive been doing the challenges and this makes the game very addictive as it's always the old saying of just one more go, ive been stuck on the same challenge for 3 days now, but im not becoming disheartened, I would have been more unhappy if it was too easy, as it is, this game is god damn brilliant with good handling and a great sense of speed, I'd highly recommend this game to anyone who loves racing games. Don't always take a review in a magazine as the final word as he no doubt just didnt like the game from the start, the only downside i found was that there is no time trial mode which is a bit strange, but hey they might just put that in tt superbikes 2, i sure hope they do make one and that this game sells well.

Just to inform you of how well its selling.
It got to number 5 in the allformat chart!
and 2nd in the ps2 chart and that was only behind gt4! so theres no compliants there.
Selling really well I believe.

Ive just done a 16:30 tt lap time, fell off 3 times too so I can do better.

I love this game. It's so realistic. At the moment I'm trying to beat my lap time on the Ducati, with expert handling and manual gears. It's very, very difficult.

This game is very hardcore as my first impression
even better than riding spirit (1 and 2)
I first play intermediate handling ...
I already feel that is very difficult to win
expert handling will be impossible with DS2 unless you are god
as the others said ... the sense of speed is really amazing
the graphic is not top notch but the game runs real smooth
if you like driving nurburgring in GT4, you should try this game out

I normaly don't like cheats but I can't wait to unlock the choice of coloured leathers!

On the menu where Aracade, challenges etc are press: R1,R2,L1,L2,R1,R2,L1,L2 a key pad will appear.

Now type in SPEEDFREAKS

All track events should now be open.

Now do the same thing again to make the key pad appear. Now type in WORLD CHAMP

Thanks to (Nitrous Oxide ( nitrous_132 (@t) hotmail.com )
