Has Kaz specifically addressed the reason that some of the prologue features like tuning and ballasting a car to fit a particular requirement were not included in gt5? I just tried to find an online race for the car I wanted to drive and could not find a room. Ballasts are used in real racing to balance as is HP tuning through restrictor plates, among other things.

This would be a great feature as well as a p/w sorting option and a rating system for cars that incorporates a number of variables in it's algorithm. A feature I believe prologue has as well.

I'd love ballast. There have been a few too many times where a car I wanted to use for an online room missed minimum weight by as little as 5kg.

:grumpy: 👍

It was in GT4. Add another item to the list of things that have been given to us in past games but taken away in the next installment.

So there has been no comment by PD on this or other issues? I really wish I could read Japanese.

Make it a dual entry ballast. One on the center of the car to match weight restrictions, and a "floating" one to mess around with weight distribution / balance.

Putting it in the center of the car could already change the balance. The center of mass isn't always at the center of the car.

What would be a great additional to ballasts would be rewards weight in online races. Not only could you specify the weight, but the ballast locations. Winner might get 100 extra pounds in the form of two 50 lb ballasts ahead/behind the front and rear axles. That would certainly prevent someone from sweeping the room. Of course, I hope people don't overdo it and put reward weight everywhere.

It's a weapon that throws arrow-like missiles at high range.
All my Astons had that upgrade in GT4, since I'm a big James Bond fan.

What is "ballast"?:nervous:

 That would be a ballista!

Ballast is basically (excess) weight or "load", as used to weigh down hot air balloons and ships, among other things, often for stability.
GT4 let us place ballast of a given weight at a given "location" along the wheelbase. This helped with fine-tuning overall weight, and in addressing dynamic issues in the handling - like excess understeer...

By the way, I really hope PD bring this back. Along with boost adjustment and "restrictor plates" or similar. 👍
