I’m in a sort of love/hate relationship with PC2. I’ve enjoyed most of the game except how most of the cars handle.

I’ve been trying to get through the Gr. A races in career, but I just can’t seem to figure out a tune for the Sierra Cosworth RS500. The power is like a light switch and comes on just as I’m exiting a corner

Before you bast me…yes, I’ve done some searches.

Thanks in advance.

Exciting isn't it :)

You should try the Can Am Porsche 917/10 at 100% boost pressure :)

It'll make that Cossy feel like a pussy cat next time you drive it :)

Joking aside, just turn down the boost pressure in the setup if wish mate.

I'm not sure I'd be much help with setup even if I had driven the Ford which I haven't yet... but judging by the way the computer drives that seems to be somewhat the way the car is designed.

I just did Group A with the Audi(which is one of the easiest cars to drive in the game). The races basically played out that the Mercs were amazing in the corners but average in the straight bits, the Fords were hopeless every time they had to turn the steering wheel but surged straight to ludicrous speed once they could open it up, and the BMWs... well I guess they were allowed into the races which was nice. The Audi was kind of somewhere in the middle but was so easy to drive hard that I could make do with it, just gotta be super nice to your outside front tire. So tracks with big straights and simple corners the Fords all were in front, while the technical tracks were all Mercedes. BMWs actually did beat the Fords somewhere once, I think maybe Sakitto? I basically had to let the Fords go by and work back past them when they tried to figure out how to turn.

I'm sure they can be made better by a good tune, but a certain amount of "deal with it" may be required - at least with full boost.

I completely agree with your observations. I've just finished a long career in Group A driving the BMW M3, and whilst it handled perfectly, it was really difficult driving against those Sierra's, they just blasted away from me after every corner, if I managed to overtake them most of the time they would be back past or at worse level at the next corner. Any track with really long straights normally meant I couldn't win. At first I found it really annoying but once I realised my cars strengths, I mostly beat them, it was very challenging at times though !

Edit: I could tell I chose one of the weakest cars in the class by looking at the finishing order. On many occasions if I won the next BMW would be around 9th with Sierra's mostly filling the other spots with a couple of Merc's.
