It's such a shame that the few cars that do have a decent engine note can turn into a hairdryer
when you apply certain power upgrades.

The most stark for me so far is the Ferrari GTO 84. I didn't realise what a great engine sound it had
until I turned off the upgrades I applied and ran it stock after hearing it in the Sierra challenge. It made me enjoy the car more. I'm trying to figure out which upgrade is responsible for that horrible vacuum cleaner sound. I'm willing to sacrifice some power. Sound is important to me for the feel and enjoyment of a car.

Why did PD do this?

Ironically some of the American muscle cars sound better with upgrades and grittier like the Firebird and Dodge super Bee.

Exhaust, try sports or stock. Semi-racing is also good sometimes, but racing exhaust is usually the one that turns cars into "hairdryers".

Also, custom transmission adds a distinctive transmission whine, I think because it's meant to be a dogbox, which are generally pretty loud in real life.

👍

True, but the muscle cars sound a bit less garbage when upgraded! Stock they sound beyond bad. The muscle cars are definitely weedy sounding generally.

We don't need yet another thread on the sounds in GT6. Please use an existing one for any further discussion.
