Tuned Stage II HPA Golf R32; REALLY slow acceleration from standing start....!

Hey guys, I won this car after completing one of the championships and then consequently tuned it up (all 'upgrades' added) and is now running 696 bhp. Top speed is fine, but from a standing start, the acceleration is really really bad. It literally takes 5-6 seconds for the car to even move!! Once moving and up to 50-60mph, it is ok.

Am I making a real noobie mistake here or what?! I've tried changing all the settings individually (turbo, torque distribution etc etc) during practice runs but nothing helps.

Any ideas kind folk?

Its called turbo lag- try building up the revs before you set off, it will make it abit better.
 
Or maybe try changing gearing?
 
yeh thats the problem with strapping a massive turbo to a car, you need to keep the engine on song or it will be terribly slow, probably be better off with a small turbo and change the gearing
 
Thanks for the replies chaps :)

I had considered the turbo-lag issue, but two things got me thinking;
I presumed it was more of an issue (speaking realistically) when travelling at speed and changing gear (i.e. waiting for the boost to 'kick-in')
And also, I have a large turbo bolted onto my '96 RX7 (569bhp) and I don't see this phenomenon on that at all (speaking gaming now!)

Anyway, as you guys say, building up the revs from a start helps, it's just that crashing mid-race and trying to get going again is frustrating!!!!
 
I've been using that car much online and i've encountered that issue too. Solution, as other said, Use handbrake and gas to do a launch start u can even do it at low speeds if needed
