Tuner, Race, Or Road Car ?

Why is the DMC Delorean S2 '04 treated, as with GT4 AI competitor cars, as a tuner type race car ? Is it not simply a road car or am I missing something ? GT5 it is clearly treated as a road car with AI competitors cars.

It's a 2004 S2 rebuild, not an original 80s model, so it actually is a modified car.

Thanks pez... I kinda thought it might be that, but then again I question why the exact same standard car was changed to a "road type" in GT5 for competitor cars... ?

I'd assume because it looks a bit silly having it alongside the considerably wilder tuned cars, and has a better chance of being competitive in events. There's a non-zero chance that it was a mistake of course!
