So I just purchased a Honda NSX-R and maxed out everything. I even buy some nitrous. To ensure that I get max points (200pts) at the Tuner car Series, I didn't increase the horsepower at all (so it sits at 295hp). So... I run the series and get completely owned by, of all things, an S2000 (Amuse R1). Really... I wasn't at all viable competition for top 2 positions, which usually went to a RUF and the Amuse.

So I'm pissed... I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on... I go out of my way and buy every car I've seen in the series to test them at Infenion Sport Car Course (sort of my proving grounds). The best time I've run with my NSX-R is 1'40 flat with sport softs. So I go down the line and test them all out, running up to 4 laps each, and the best time I got was a 1'43 out the R1 Amuse. Though it handled amazing, I never could get it as quick as the NSX-R.

So... were the cars in the Tuner Series suped-up a little more or something? Because my 575hp Z06 (which is the best car I have) ran an average 4 seconds quicker than the Amuse R1. So what's the deal? Did they up the power in all the cars in the Tuner Series?

Opponents in the tuning car series use R3(racing medium) compound tires. :) That's the only reason your're getting smoked, so put some R3 tires on your NSX and you'll have a good race on your hands. 👍

And you could try a grid without the RUF...
I choose to buy a MINE's GTR and smoke the field when I got tired of losing ^^

You could just use a tuned-up Dodge Ram or X-Runner. It's certainly not what was intended for the series, but it does the job for 200 points.

I didn't know about opponent's use of the R3 tires; I've had trouble scoring any decent points in this series with other cars, anyhow.

I find in my stock-car thread (see sig.) that you could use these cars stock for 200p

Renault Clio Race Car
Amuse S2000 R1 '04

You can also try these:

Nissan Gran Turismo Skyline GT-R '01
Honda S2000 LM Race Car ('01)

Tried the NSX-R '92 stock with R3 tires in the tuner cup at El Capitan. Against Mines Lancer, Amuse S2000, and RUF RGT, BTR and CTR2. The CTR2 was a pain as it is much faster, but not good at cornering. This win gave 187 A-spec points. So Its doable with the NSX-R.
Stay away from the RUF "yellowbird" and the HPA Motorstorts unless you boost your power.

Ha! I knew it! Thanks guys. I was certain that they were using some mods. Damn, I even sold my NSX-R because I thought the car just couldn't handle it. Ah, I just now notice there is no tires restriction on this one. lol. God I feel like a noob now.
