I did a search for 206 and got no hits with answers. So I imagine nobody has posted a solution for this yet:

I know I could probably beat the 206 cup with a 206 Rally Car (750K). But since the best car you are competing against is a 206RC it seems that this race should be possible to beat with a 206RC fully upgraded.

Yet, when I do this I still get an 85-point race and the best I seem to get is 2nd or 3rd place, with quite a distance to the lead car (in A-spec, B-spec is far worse). If I'm not wrong a 10-point race is supposed to be what an "equal" car is. So, what am I missing?

Also, I am still using default settings. How do I figure out the best settings for this car on each of the Peugeot 206 races?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this issue is driving me nuts.

With thanks to djaft3rb3ats for the tuning settings.
I know very little of tuning. So applauses go to him, criticism comes to me.
Suggestions for B-Spec setting improvements wanted... for some races.
====================================================

Summary:
---------
Once you get the right car, upgrades and settings this is a fun race. The settings presented here are good enough to with the series in A-spec, but not quite good enough for winning the series with a B-spec driver with the skill of mine (7149, Machine=82, Course=71, Battle=70).

General tips:
------------
- Buy EVERY upgrade and the best of each option... you'll need it.
- Almost zero spinning out and wall collisions is critical.
- Manage VERY ACTIVELY in B-spec. Often down to 1 at critical curves entry and fast to 5 once you slowed down. Only set to overtake when actually about to pass.
- Push to pass 3 slow cars as early as possible, usually in 1st lap.
- Try to pass 2nd RC in lap 2/3.
- Use last lap(s) to catch up to and pass fastest RC.

Settings:
--------

Tires: Front=R2, Rear=R5

Nitrous: 67 (but I did not use - brain dead).

Suspension:
- Spring Rate: 9.8/10.4
- Ride Height: 109/129
- Shock (bound): default 8/8 - can probably be improved
- Shock (rebound): default 8/8 - can probably be improved
- Camber: 2.7/1.3
- Toe: -2/0 (I probably did not get this right)
- Stabilizers: default 4/4

Transmission: untouched - can probably be tailored for each race.

Driving Aids:
- ASM: untouched.
- TCS: 1

Downforce: 30/30 (max)

Limited Slip: 5/40/5

Weight Balance:
- Ballast: 10
- Front/Rear Balance: -10

Races:
------

Opera:
- A-Spec: About 60 points. Made some errors and got 3rd place.
- B-Spec: Passed 3 slow cars early. Passed 2 RCs one per lap, in the last two laps, in the curvy area before finish line.

Tsukuba:
- A-Spec: 64 points. Won. Car "shakes" at high speed.
- B-Spec:
--- First half lap until inner tight turn: On 5/overpass. Overpasses car 5 there.
--- Most turns in on 3, out on 5 at first lap, in on 2 out 5 at other laps. 2nd place. Need higher speed to make up for time lost from slow cars blocking.

Motorland:
- A-Spec: 57 points. Won by 2.1 secs. But I had to pull every trick in the book (clean and dirty). Took the lead in the first lap and battle the main contender through most of the race. Lapped the last car on 8th lap.
- B-spec: This one was horrible. Worse (if possible) than with default settings. 3rd place compared to a comfortable 2. The biggest problem was that by lap 4 when I reached the 2nd position the lead car was 11 secs ahead and gaining. Also, by lap 5 or 6 Athena (my driver) started slowing down on straight sections for no reason at all!!!

Suzuka:
- A-Spec: 57 points. Won by 4.5 secs. Gained lead just before first turn, got bumped there... and very slowly built up distance from there on.
- B-Spec: Need higher speed and acceleration. Or perhaps better driver skill. Very accurately managing seems to make a difference, but the driver is just too stupid at my current skill level.

Cote d'Azur:
- A-Spec: 57-point race. Just like in Opera, the settings ruled in this kind of high/low speed track. Beat it with almost 3 seconds lead even though I made a real dumb mistake and got stuck in a corner loosing about 5 seconds. But then, this is a classic track from GT3, so many of us know every nook, crannie and pothole and are expected to perform well.
- B-Spec: Need more driver skill. My car and settings seriously outclass the competition for this track, but Athena was a complete and utter dork. She did more pushing of the comptetition than trying to pass. With several more laps she would have eventually won. 3rd place.

first post ur specs, then well try it out, then wel give u feedback. i coldve sworn a 200point race was equal, as in the missions? but a 85 point race is not bad homie, ive raced in aspec a few 200 ones. trust me, u can beat it. il try it out tomo and show u my settings

Thanks, I am quite good but not good enough to beat a 200 point race, but I did beat a few races in 100-140 A-point range. There's just something about this one that is stumping me. :dopey:

The only things that I can think about are the car settings and not having a practice/qualify icon to get myself in the 1st or 2nd position at the start of the race (or maybe it is there and I don't see it... it has happened to me before :dunce: ).

djaft3rb3ats
sho me ur specs
lol, doh! I meant to type that. Sorry dude.

B-spec=7149
Machine=82
Course=71
Battle = 70

Every upgrade available purchased. Oil changed. B-spec actively managed (slow in - fast out).

Settings all default except:
Ride height = 115 (lowered from 133, range is 99-180)
Tires: Front =R2, Rear=R5 (R3 in front wears too fast for last lap).
<<< Clearly more setting changes needed here >>>

lol, 7k bspec, i have like 5200 and its like stuck there =). my points is 38, lol. i ahve stage 3 turbo, hard tires (race), settings are

df:max
lsd:stock:
nos:67
i ahve like 350 hp i think
tcs 0-1
weight: -5
rh: 109, 129
sr: 9.8, 10.4
camber: 2.7, 1.3
-2 toe

i think thats all, (ps2 in other room, im lazy) the thing that pisses me off is the wheel slippin, it pisses me off. gears 1 -2 automatically slip at like 6k rpm or so. ill tune it, but u should try those settings and all from ballast (10) and make it -10 instead of -5. the gears were whack, since i only had 10 minutes to mess wiht it, i couldnt get much out of it. i would suggest increasing ur first 2 gears(make it long, or slide it all the way to the left) and see whrere that tajkes you. the brakes are awesome for this vcar. it understeers, so for lsd try 5/40/5, but regular it turns fine, its just gassing it.......stupid 206 was 3 seconds ahead of me

You are the man!!! I just tried your settings and bingo!

I tried it in the Opera circuit. The handling was FAR BETTER, in A-spec it went down to a 60-point race (I got 3rd place because of a couple mistakes) and in B-spec it was close but I managed to beat it by 1.5 second. The hardest thing was making up the time lost while I battled the 3 slower cars.

I'm on to the other races in the series.

lol, thanks bro, which seetings u try? the ones i posted or the ones i say to try out? and u beat it with bspec? pro cuzzo, btw, tell me how the other races go.

djaft3rb3ats

Thanks again djaft3rb3ats. The full results are in the first posting of thread.

I'll have to try this again when Athena has more skill and see how much of a difference it makes.

I've also made a setup for the 206rc last week. I can win 160 aspec races with it now against Zonda's and Fordt gt's etc...

Spring rate: 6.0/12.7
Ride Height: 100/105
Damper Bounce: 4/8
Damper Rebounce: 4/8
Camber angle: 2.5/1
Toe angle: -1/1
Stabiliser:7/7

ASM Oversteer: 0
ASm Understeer: 0
TCS: 2

Brake balance: 10/8

Probably not perfect, but good enough for me.

I've found that the gear settings are more important than the suspension settings when working with this car in the Peugeot series.

i agree, seeing that the first few gears a killer for your tires (when you redline)

djaft3rb3ats

*edit* what i meant to say was that the gears and car combo makes it so u skip a few thousand rpms, like once u hit 6000 rpm, the car redlines real fast making lots of wheelspin =)

im a bit confused by what ur sayin cos i bought a cabriolet for i think it was the cabriolet race and then used it in the 206 race given it was a hard race but got first in all races i dunno maybe its lighter i dont have 206 hatch to compare. u can make up the money u waste on it by doin the 2 races in capri rally win that crap toyota jeep thingy and sell it it for a handy 260k
