Ok, i'm trying to do some tuning myself and it's working ok but it's taking way to damm slow :(

I always start from top to bottom:
power reduction/increase
weight tyres etc etc
and camber and height etc i take big steps.
when i feel comfortable with it i start to adjust it with small ups and downs.
after that i start with gears but that infects the rest and i can start over again.

What is the best way and official way in RL for tuning?

I usually (on GT5P) tune my power, weight, tyres and downforce. Then using the power/torque graph i tune and tweak my gearing, then finally go with the suspension.

There is no 'official' way. ;) I usually do it in this order: power/weight/downforce, gears, brakes, springs/dampers, toe, camber. But ofcourse things can pop up during testing which require you to go back to change a setting you previously thought was okay. :)

I agree with NLxAROSA ( I have used a couple of his tunes) there is no "official" way but I have found trying a couple of "tested" tunes is a good way to start. Since everybody has different driving styles, "tweaking" a tune has helped me greatly. The real issue is if you change one thing it WILL affect everything else. Sometimes your tune will have differences when racing online vice arcade mode. Use your lap times as a guide to see how your tune is progressing. I like to race the High Speed Ring (Pro) and I judge my suspension/handling setup by entry and exit of the first turn. When I started out I was maintaining ~170mph, now I can hit and maintain ~185 to 187mph. Tuning is like a resume it will always be a "Work in Progress".

Thanks for the suggestions but taking lap times as a guide is a bit tricky, when i play online mode and i select test rit, tuned my car, getting lap times around 1.03.950 for example.
Now i go online and the car completly feels different (and yes settings are saved :P ) getting dramtic lap times (1.05.xxx and after lap 4 hsr its getting lower 1.07.xx) and imo that test drive isn't a good way to test and tune.
Are there other options to quickly test and tune your selected car?

Online physics are different from free run due to things like rubber-band-effect. And yes, that really blows. 👎 With most cars, the difference is not that big, but for the GTLM I actually changed the settings to fit online because it was a nightmare to drive online with the free run setup.

1.03.950 is not that shabby, I generally run avg 1.03.xx with the GTLM and occasionally slide a 1.02.xx in there. Something interesting when running online is if you fall behind it seems like you can get quicker lap times as if it where a "catch up" mode. I don't know if it is because I am pushing harder to catch up, but I can run in the 1.01.xx with the same tune that I have been running in the 1.03.xx? I found this while I was tuning the GTLM online. FYI I do have all the driving aids turned off except ABS = 1.
