I was thinking that there should be like tuning bundles/packs tailored to racing, drifting, drags, etc, so you don't waste time. And also they would be funny removable so you can have a stock car when you want and a racer when you want.

I could definitely go with reversible modifications. :) Would save me money by not needing multiples.
We do have this already I guess, as long as the car has not been RM'd.
We have the option to remove suspension, drive-line, aero and other parts, just not the engine stages, 1, 2 and 3.
If you leave the engine tune and weight "as is", then the other parts once removed, essentially take the car back to stock.

Having said that, I would like to see "tuning shops" returned. 👍
I remember (very vaguely and a long time ago, before the release of GT5), reading some where that tuning shops/options may be available to buy online, like DLC packs I guess???
Like a "Mines" workshop, "TopSecret workshop"....that kind of thing. 💡

Wouldn't that just kill the main purpose of find the tune that fits the specific, individual car and you? I mean, sure, for some presets. But I wouldn't base my entire tune off of it and call it done.

Maybe like a rally tune pack that includes the body and engine mods etc, and race mods to buy in the tune shop.

Here's another big problem I'll always have with Gran Turismo 5 unless it's fixed by patching (but these fools at PD could care less about this! or maybe they could?); with the immense storage capacity of a PS3 hard drive, why can't you just have seperate little files or one huge one with all your own tuning setups like what I've caught a glimpse of in Forza (I've never played one so I'm not sure), and also, like you said, have tuning setups laid out for you for a purpose and have tuning terminology and technique laid out in an in-game book to help you tune things correctly, like the suspenion for off-road racing(Drag,Top Speed,Drift, etc). What REALLY, REALLY irkes me is THERE'S ONLY THREE TUNING SETUPS! WTF!!!!!! AND I'm forced to MANUALLY write out "Setting A (Tuned)" "Setting B (Original) (Complied stats of original car insert here)" "Setting C (Regulation)".........
..........
AND NOW THERE'S NO MORE ROOM FOR MORE TUNING SETUPS FOR DIRT/SNOW, DRIFT, OR TOP SPEED!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

I've had many more problems with GT5, from the incomplete NASCAR experience to having a simulation driving style THAT ISN'T ALWAYS ENJOYABLE OR ACTUALLY POSSIBLE WITH A NORMAL DS3 CONTROLLER BUT PD WOULDN'T GIVE A (F) NOW WOULD THEY IF YOU ONLY HAD THAT AND NOT A STEERING WHEEL! :grumpy: AND MAYBE WORSE!
However, the fact I can't even go beyond having one normal setting fully-tuned, an original setting to bring in any car's original stock essence, and a regulation setting for AI pussies who can't tune their own cars as well, makes the game darn near unplayable at times being unable to have several tuning setup "openings" to put my own things in like setups for a particular track. 👎 👎

The whole tuning menu needs to be changed to streamline things and decrease time wasted in menus.

Everything to do with tuning should have a checklist option and an on/off switch for animations. You should be able to go down a list, check the boxes of parts you want and then hit "Buy All" or something like that and be done. Scrap the GT Auto and put the oil change, chassis/engine refurbish in the Tuning area and bring in a Livery Editor for painting and aero and cosmetic changes to the car.

On top of that, you should be able to enter a race lobby, go into your garage, and hit one button to return any car to stock condition, or have a 4th tuning profile that remains at stock regardless of the mods you make. As it is now, you have to either retain cars as stock to race without tuning or hope that you don't make any reversible mods to the car if you still want to race it spec.

Thank you for mentioning the "preset stock setting" necessity.
The game is so damn annoying where you only have three settings when you actually need, say, six, and you'd have to reset the whole goddamn setting for a new one. Also, why the fudge do you not only have merciless, female-dogging options for race cars like buying a turbo kit, like WhyTF would a put a F-ing turbo kit on a Le Mans Prototype or WRC? Plus, the stupid-arse permanent engine modifications, etc., etc.- I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT GT5'S PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!
In general, GT5 is so God-awfully flawed, it's disgusting.
:irked:
