Tuning Shop Ripped Me Off (lost 20,000 credits)

WOW.., went into the Tuning Shop to purchase the BIG transmission upgrade. Dropped 20,000 credits on it. I even watched my account lessen by 20,000 credits after the purchase.

Totally excited about being able to adjust my transmission I go into the tuning and what do I find..., the part I purchased for 20,000 credits wasn't there!!!!! Since I'm new to the title (on the PS3.., I have it on my PSP) I figured perhaps it's somewhere I'm not looking..., but later realized it just wasn't where it was supposed to be period.

I then go back into the Tuning Shop to find that even though I paid for it., there was no check mark by the part. I had to shell out another 20,000 credits to get it. I had to freakin spend 40,000 credits for this part. Holy freakin sh$@.....!!!!

I've only had this game since Saturday so clearly I haven't racked up a massive amount of credits yet...., and 20,000 credits at this point in the game is a HUGE loss for me....

Is this common.., does it happen often..., anyone else have this happen?
 
Unlucky mate. Its never happened to me though. Guess I'm lucky.
 
I have not had any problems with buying parts so far (fingers crossed)
 
Go to the main menu and select the items icon on the left (looks like a suitcase)
It should be there, you have just forgotten to install it

I checked..., it just wasn't there at all. After I purchase parts I always click on the install now icon right after buying it. Just an odd glitch I guess. I hope it doesn't become a frequent for me. Plus when going into the tuning section any part you've purchased will be in its respective category. My part purchase wasn't there. After I purchased it a second time and went through the exact same process of installing it.., the part finally showed up.

Yea. now that I think about it, it has happened to me. You will just have to install it to a different car that hasn't got it yet.

The original purchase is gone folks.., POOF! It's off in vapor land somewhere :crazy: I just hope this doesn't happen again.....
 
I'm missing a Lambo Gallardo, POOF. I know I bought one to do the Gallardo race in A-spec. Went to put Bob in it for the B-spec race & no Gallardo in my garage. WTF Oh wells, I have plenty of credits to replace it.

You're lucky you at least have plenty of credits :) Oh well.., just gotta grind it out some more to get those back. Tomorrow I'll hit up some more races and get it back...
 
If you can run the last race in Rd 4 sesonal race then you'll get 1.5mil in one race & level up really fast but that round of seasonal races will close out @ 10pm EST on the 26th.

Give me your PSN & I'll send you a car that you will win that race with now so you can have a nice bank to play with.

What level are you now?

Yes, these are online seasonal races & there is an online UCD that flips when the round closes out. Give me a couple mins to builld & tune the car. I'll send the request now so when the car is done I can send it straight away.

HA! That damn part is floating around somewhere. Where ever it is.., it sure isn't on my PS3.

Maybe my Xbox 360 had something to do with it :) Since I got GT-5 and a brand spankin new PS3..., Forza-3 has been shelved.., and was already seeing much less play time before I got GT-5.

Can't remember what level I am. It's not that high..., that I do know for sure :)
 
Yeah, it's funny about the seasonal events and gifting cars - you have to be a certain level driver to BUY some of these cars, but you don't have to be that level of driver to RECEIVE THEM via gift, nor to DRIVE THEM in the Seasonal Events.

Not that I'm complaining about it; I just find it kinda funny. It's like on the one hand, PD is saying, "Nope - you've got to EARN this, prove your worth, like" and on the other hand they're saying, "Meh - do whatever you want. We don't care."

I can't even buy the R390 GT LM car in the UCD right now on one account, because it takes a L23 driver to buy that car, and I'm at L22 on that account. And the R390 is about to cycle off the page. But if someone gifted me an X2010, I could drive that, no problem. I just can't BUY it.

Silly game, silly rules.


BTW: Keep an eye on those Seasonal Events. GREAT way to rack up money and level up your driver! Should be another round along about 9:00pm Central Time on Wednesday night.
 
To be honest if you're at a point in the game where 20k is a huge sum of money, there are probably better things to be spending it on than a fully adjustable transmission.

Sweet! I'll be hitting that race up first thing in the morning ;-) Our PS3 is currently in the bedroom and the wife is fast asleep. If I wake her up racing at this time of night.., well I'm sure you can figure out the rest. Again.., thanks so much for doing this.
