Hi,

I'm new to tuning. I have a stock C8 and it is seriously under steering. Do you agree?

Does anyone have any suggested tunes for this car?

Thank you!!! :)

I don't agree actually. But I have made some minor tunes to mine that makes it enjoyable to drive. I can PM my current setup, which is more gut feeling, or I can spend the weekend making an actual tune =P Your choice, I have nothing to do this weekend anyways =P

Hellooos!

Like the OP, I'd also like some hints and tips on setting this (fully tuned) 'beaut up. Been tinkering with it for days now without reaching my goal of beating the NSX LM prototype around Suzuka - a heavier and weaker car if I recall correctly.

Anyway, been doing a little research on the weight distribution of the C8 in particular, but the only numbers I could find were for the LM version (43% front, 57% rear). And I have indeed been able to shave a couple of seconds off, but not enough ;-)

I'll happily share the setup I have now already, but I'm obviously not completely happy with it, hehe.

PS. The C8 is an MR car irl and NOT an FR car as displayed in-game insofar as this would be either news to anyone, or of tuning relevance.

Well here's two that I found a while back. BOTH ARE NOT MINE and I don't claim responsibility for them. I would give credit but I don't remember who made them. :(

Tune 1:
RH: -10 -13
SR: 6.6 5.6
B: 6 5
RB: 6 5
ARB: 4 5
C: 0.0 1.0
Toe: -.17 +.06
Brakes: 7 5

Diff
Initial 7
Accel 30
Decel 5

Downforce 20

Tune 2:
RH: -15 -15
SR: 12.0 9.0
B: 8 7
RB: 7 6
ARB: 5 6
C: 2.1 1.2
Toe: -.20 +.20
Brakes: 7 5

Diff
Initial 12
Accel 38
Decel 5

Downforce 20

Hope this helps.

2nd one worked rather nicely. Just a little bit touchy, which I like. To anyone who's painted it, do the grey parts get painted too or just the black? I'd like to jazz it up a bit, but don't want to lose the contrast.

Ugh... They really need to add the ability to preview the paint on the whole car, not that stupid little 3d model. Same for rims.

The grey stays. I painted mine matte red :)

This car doesn't seem quite right stock so I made a few special modifications to 'er myself.
Unfortunately I've yet to find any solid data on the real cars specification.

Spyker C8 Laviolette '01
470hp 1270kg 521pp

Parts:
Adjustable LSD
Suspension Fully Customizable Kit
Tyres - Comfort Soft

Setup:
Ballast 200kg, Position 43 (45/55 dist.)

Adjustable LSD
Initial....6
Accel...6
Decel...8

Suspension (F/R)
Ride.....20/ 20
Spring.. 5.5/ 6.5
Ext...... 1/ 1
Comp.. 1/ 1
ARB.... 1/ 1

Not only was the car labeled a FR but the stock springs and weight distribution are also those of a FR. I think the weight is a bit dry as well so I tried to remedy these discrepancies as best I could. Just don't forget to Restore Chassis Rigidity on high mileage examples.

Any tunes for this car that does not involve aerodynamics and adding / reducing weight? E.g. Focus on suspension tuning, LSD, and gear ratios?

Quick question. How do you make posts like that with the link? I normally just copy/paste from my browser, but how do you put your own word/words there in place of the link?

You want a post like that, or a post like THIS..!!

Now that's how you draw someone's attention to something, ooooooooooooh, shiny...

PS - Everyone else happy with posting web addresses as text or pictures..??

You'll find what you're looking for here:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode

That's GTPlanet's BB Code List. I'll briefly run down how to do this:

Just before halfway down you see a header called Post Linking

In there you see this example:

[post=x269302]Click Me![/post]

That's the generic post link. To link to your specific post, right click on the post number at the top right of the individual post you want to link, that looks like this: #1

Click on Properties at the bottom of the drop down.

The very last thing you'll see in there is a 7 digit number like this one: 7815134

That's the exact post number of your post you want to link to. Copy it to clipboard by highlighting the number with a left click and drag of the mouse, then right click and select "copy" .

Open your own post where you want the link to go and paste it in there.

Take the generic link above, [post=x269302]Click Me![/post] and copy and paste it into the post as well, and then delete the generic number of x269302 and move your own post number in there.

Then delete the words "Click Me" and insert your own text and you now have what you're looking for.

In my example it would be like this:

[post=[B]Seven[/B]815134]DeadNutsEven Racing[/post] << I used seven for illustration only...if you use the number 7 you get this:

[post=7815134]DeadNutsEven Racing[/post]

Sounds complicated but once you get the hang of it, it's 30 seconds of copying and pasting. I have an MSOffice Word file I can open that has bunch of common links saved so if I need them again, I just copy and paste and in seconds it's done.

Thanks Johnny. As always, your the man 👍

Way too complicated. It's literally a 3 step process; Copy/Click/Paste
For those that want the simple method:

Linking words:
1: Open the specific post in a new tab, or window. (By clicking the post #)
2: Copy the URL in the web address bar (You can now close that window/tab)
3: In your current post you're writing, highlight the word(s) you want to be linked.
4: Click on the Icon of the Globe with a chain link (This is even in the 'quick reply' option, and does not require 'Go Advanced')
5: Paste the URL into the little pop up window

Linking pictures:
1: Copy the direct link URL of the picture
2: Click on the icon directly to the right of the icon used above (Looks like a picture, with a tiny green circle at the bottom right)
3: Paste the picture URL
<You have now added the picture to the post>
4: Copy the URL you want the picture to link to
5: Highlight the entire text that was just inserted above
6: Click on the Icon of the Globe with a chain link
7: Paste the URL you want the picture linked to
