Hello, this is just a first tuning test for the Nurburgring pro mode.
Very difficult to play with all those parameters but they answer so well that it´s a real pleasure to play with. This is how i feel good with the car.
Feedback would be welcome. Thanks.

Wow praiano! So glad you're on AC! Gotta try your tune asap, thanks a lot 👍
Try it with the medium compounds or the hards. You'd be surprised at how well they work after a few laps.
Thanks, i´ve heard about the mdium compound but i didn´t test them yet. This is the only track where i can tune for the moment. I know perfectly the track and my very low resolution video, due to my low price computer, don´t allow to see a lot of things in front of the car. It´s like escape from the police in the london fog. I hope i´ll be able to upgrade my PC in a few.:D
I´m still playing GT6 and i´ll still producing tunes for my garage because a lot of people love to play with my cars. This is the only reason i have now. I play for the driving sensations and for this AC flight high above. I´m in love.
Thanks again, waiting for your feedback, there is a lot of things to learn for me now.

AC is great isn't it. As for the mediums and hards I always seems to set better lap times on them compared to the softs. Fiance is away tonight so i'll have time to try out the tune for a while. I look forward to driving something with a tune (although i'm really not fond of the Mclaren due to Iracing lol) rather then default because i suck at tuning.

I've been driving it now for a little while and it feels pretty good. The only thing i did was change to mediums and instantly gained a second on my first lap.

Lets get a little HLC going using this setup. I think that would be fun since the WRS thread really never took off.

Nice, what is HLC ???

HLC= Hot lap challenge. Guess thats a forza term. lol.

Here's my best lap on mediums. a 2.00.1 with a lot of room for improvement after watching my replay. I think i may be able to squeeze a 1.58 out of it eventually.

I hope its okay to post this video here since it isn't the video thread. It is topic related though. If not feel free to holler at me mods.

Nice lap . I´m 2:00.5xx with medium too, but not very regular. I had to low the rear RH 1 point to be more comfortable under strong trail braking and les 1 point rear ARB, principally for left turn 3. It´s uncredible how the car react to a minimum change in the settings.
There is still a lot to do to let it more balanced. It´s a very fun car to drive.

Oh, nice to have you on the bright side (PC Racing ;) ) praiano. I'll try your tuning attempt asap.👍

I just realized the rsr app records times during races. I'm still try to break out of the 2.00 min mark and into the 59s. Top times are 56s wich is unbelievably fast in my opinion.

Gonna give the car a go on the default with mediums and see what happens.

Hello, is the car faster for you with default settings ??

I´ve found in another forum (inside sim racing by fzzy) and tested a G27 wheel adjustment that don´t let me faster but a lot more confident and regular, reducing a lot the dead zone of the wheel.
File Assetto corsa
File cfg
File controllers
File preset
Logitec G27 900 no shifter ( it´s my wheel choose your)
[Stear]
FF_GAIN =..... set it to 2 in the way of 1

This result in a more stable line in straight and also a more precise driving input.

Actually i can run just about the same times either way. Yours is a lot less nervous though compared to the default settings. With default i really have to fight it on the track in some spots. And i finally did get into the 59's it was only a .9, but I've been up on it by 7 or 8 tenths only to choke. What i'm saying is i like your tune better. Care to make one for the BMW GT3 car and share.

Hey praiano, nice to see you here :)

I haven't tried your setup yet, but just looking at the numbers it strikes me as having a lot more rear wing than necessary, and the ride height seems very high. My own setup has default aero and 15/22 ride height. My best time is 1'56.0, the current RSR world record. I'll give your setup a go next time I play.

Oh and the reason medium tires seem better is because softs only start out at 90% grip and need a full lap warmup to reach 100%, and then they only last one lap at max grip before they start dropping by 1-2% per lap. During that first lap at 100% they're significantly faster than mediums though (my best on mediums is 1'56.7). If you play without wear, then softs never go above 90% and are several seconds slower than mediums.

Care to share your whole setup as it would be greatly appreciated. 1.56s at first seemed out of this world but the more i drive the track the more i see the spots im missing. Id love to try your setup, but if you dont wanna share thats totally understandable.

Smoking time by the way.

Hello, thanks for the tips. I´ll explore some others tuning directions. My actuals settings are just to let the car a bit safer for me because i´m not a top driver and i run the game on a very poor computer for the moment. The track on my TV appear frame by frame..... even with a low graphic setting and i just can enjoy a lot the driving sensation thru my wheel FFB. This is already amazing to feel the physics like this.
There are a lot of settings parameters to play with, coming from GT6 , this is another world and i have a lot to learn.

I´ll wait for you publishing yours settings. It will be a great oportunity to check what and how is a fast tune in AC.

Have a good week-end everybody.

I tried his setup and as far as feeling you guys both feel about the same with the exception being the gears. @yanaran gearing really shines on this track. I ended up running a 1.58.1 with a hybrid of yours and @yanaran setup jumbled together. With a little more pushing i can see myself in the 56 club, but probably in the higher side of the .8's or .9's.

And i do see the difference in the softs now. I paced myself for the first lap and then went all out on my flier and was flying. Only downfall is i like to get into a groove and restrating after 2 laps all the time throws me off my game.

Good job to both of you guys.

Praiano, after trying your setup I see what you mean. You've made it very stable and easy to drive. In a long race with traffic and tire wear it's probably not a bad way to go. However for hotlaps it just has too much rear downforce and drag, a lot of the corners at nurb really needs the car to be loose and swing around with a bit of sliding. Your low camber and high ride height also makes it hard to get tire temperature in the fronts. This is another aspect of tuning that's completely different from GT, makes it even more complicated but I like it. :) I recommend getting one of the 3rd party tire temperature apps to keep an eye on temps while working on your setups. On mediums I couldn't get within 2 seconds of my times, best lap was 58.9. Even with lowering the wings to 1/5, I couldn't go under 1'58 with it due to the low grip in the front.

My own setup is probably nothing special, it's just minor modifications from another setup I found. It does bottom out occasionally (especially in the right 180 before Schumacher S) due to the low ride height, but it doesn't seem to hurt lap times. My only real problem is the bouncing in the final chicane, but I don't understand dampers enough yet to figure that out on my own. Everything I do to fix it seems to make me slower everywhere else. :p I'll edit in a link to it from my gaming PC in a bit.

Hope you keep at it, takes a while to get used to everything. I've been playing for months and I'm just now starting to get the hang of what all the settings do. :) You'll probably get into it much faster though! I also really like the fact that you can't just do one setup and use it everywhere like in GT, you have to tailor it to every track. The first setup I really spent any time on was the Lotus 125 at Nurb, and after I set the WR time there I went to Silverstone (which is my best track in AC) and spun almost every corner! :p Had to completely rework everything just to get around, never mind go fast!

@ praiano63, JerseyDriverSS & yanaran:

Sorry for the slightly "Off Topic" intrusion but I would be remiss for NOT sending a BIG THANX to all of you for explaining AC's tyre dynamics. I'm fairly new to the game & once I drove the BMW M3 GT2, I knew I was "Hooked"! I'm probably the world's worst tuner so have been driving it mostly "Straight Out of the Box". Not into Hot Laps so have been driving 10 Lappers @ various venues w/Super Soft tyres fitted and have worked my way up to 96%, winning some & losing some, mostly depending on the first turn mayhem.

I wondered why lap #2 or #3 was "Hella Fast" [for ME anyway] & then my lap times started falling off while the AI loomed larger & larger in my mirrors. In GT4 I prided myself on consistent lap times, especially in the Enduros. [NOT Fast, just consistent!] After I read this thread, I fitted "SOFTS" & took off for 10 Laps @ Imola. WOW!!! What a difference! ALL laps were within ONE Second [excepting Lap #1 of course] & amazingly, Lap #9 was the quickest! Also I adjusted quickly & don't think my best time ever on "Super Softs" was that much quicker.
Many THANX...O.G.

Was stuck at 1'59.3xx for the longest time, but finally cracked into the 58's using @yanaran tune. Thank you! :)

Great laps guys. I'm not by my wheel at the moment but I did get a 2:12.1 with a keyboard! :dopey:

(I did get a penalty in the first turn so could've been high 2:08. :()

First lap of the day and i did a 1.57.6. Im gonna be pushing real hard to get into the top 10 on the rsr leaderboard today.

My best time on the hot lap is 2min 5 sec. That is much faster than me on the stock tune. I'm a **** driver atm so I should be able to get better than that with practice if its not my wheel settings slowing me down.

Finally back in the game after what seemed like forever. New wheel, new graphics card, and fixed pedals. Now back to chasing 1.56's.

Just had a go at this using @yanaran tune. Got a 1:56.661, botched the chicane, so there was probably a 56.3 in that lap. You guys in the 55s are ridiculous.
