Just blowing off some steam and hopefully looking for a few answers @ the same time.
Ok so I tested my Viper several runs, it ran about a 9.042 consistently. Retuned it with the lowest final gear as my old tune didnt have that. It now runs consistently around a 9.030. Getting lucky and hitting a perfect launch every now and then with full throttle launching i would get down to a 9.012. Would never save those runs as I saw them as flukes, so I would rerun and get my old average of 9.03. Now my question is how are people breaking 8.9's with both the Enzo and the Viper ACR when no matter how i fiddle with the settings on both cars, i consistently run .3 to .5 sec short of a 8.999. Please dont respond with "timed launches" or whatever. I've ran my 9.04x tune on my enzo in Indy and still have people beating me, claiming they run 8.997's. (Note: Ive done the best i possibly can with suspensions before moving on to trans) (Second Note: These people on Indy arent using this acclaimed "Echeat", after some research i can assure this because anyone I race i count their gears with mine, and listen to the engines.)

Anywho I just cant fathom the fact that people can be running any faster than MAYBE and 8.99x without some sort of "special launch" or "echeat"

P.S. I do appreciate all the work you all have put forth unto this website to helping people, Beginners. As I once was one and came to the guides and learderboards to push myself and tune my cars to make them as fast as I can. Thanks everyone and Appreciations to anyone who helpfully responds to me.

It's tranny that your not hitting 8.9s.
And as much as you don't wanna hear this... It is time launched. That's how we all get our times at SSRX. Full throttle launch I doubt will get you in the 8.9 consistently.
Work on your tranny and your suspension.
For a Indy tune have your top speed to about 175-177.
SSRX, I have my ACR at 185 and I launched in 1st gear timed launch that's how I got my time.

If you're saying that your getting that time, 9.030 with a full throttle launch, then I'll test mine and let you know how it fairs against yours. It's illogical to compare a full throttle launch to that of a timed or special launch.

No full throttle launch best I've got was a 9.009 but average I do is a 9.018-30

Ok, Im fine with hearing that it is timed then. If its coming from someone like who has very nice tunes, I can believe it. and it makes me feel even better that you say on average you run 9.018-.030. That just means im closing in the gap :).
But then is it too much for me to ask exactly how you are getting these timed launches. It cant be you just barely hold the throttle @ say 8000RPM's and wait for the 1 to drop and you slam it, ive tried several techniques myself and none seem to work consistently if I may say. I may have to say it myself, I may be making a bigger scene of this than is necessary, I may tend to overthink it and just need to realize there is techniques.

Thanks for some help and understanding. :)

Quick Edit: As I've read by someone on several occasions, "There will always be someone faster than you." I can't remember who I've read this from, but whoever it is it makes sense and I'm all for giving credit where credit is due.

Timed launch, waiting until just before 'Go!' and then floor it, hopefully, the needle will initially rise, then slightly lower, hopefully to the powerband, then sit there for a while. After this you shift as per normal.

Special launch, it's basically a super quick shift. You start in first, regardless of what car you are. As soon as you launch (aim for low rpm) shift up to 2nd, this should put you in the same cycle as a timed launch with the needle floating around the powerband 👍

Sorry for the Double post but. What exactly do you mean by that. It seems the faster 1/4 mile tunes tend to run on a 2.000 or 2.500 final Trans (depending on the car) compared to using a 5.000 or w/e the other end of the Trans is lol. As to individual Gear Ratio's I want to believe I've nailed the closest to near perfect I can without going .001 @ a time and testing and tuning, rinse, repeat.

Now that totally would have me remaking ALL of my tunes. Starting in first has never seemed to work (unless the car requires it). But as for my Enzo its a 2nd up to redline, quick to 3rd before it bounces off the redline. For the Viper if i start in 1st and short to 2nd its just gonna stall everytime unless i redo the tune on it for that kind of launch. Which I might add would be a huge pain lol.

Anyways Thanks for the reinforcement and support everyone

Yes you always want the minimum final gear.

Pick a starting final, like 2.825, whats what I use on my acr. set top speed to minimum 137, then minimum final. 2.000. then set ratios. My viper runs 8.98x this way. thats with the ssrx launching tricks though, which you'll have to get used to. But thats just how you know your tune is good 👍

But your Viper does need some work, its off by about .02

As for the Enzo, if you are running 9.04 at redline launch your tune is great. Dont let Indy get to your head. Indy is all about reaction time. You can have a faster car and still lose to someone who just gets you off the line every time. You need to be aware of that 👍 Thats probably what was happening. also, remember, there will always be someone faster. I know it can get frustrating.

You should be launching the enzo and viper in 2nd gear.

Cant think of anything else for now
