I am just wondering how people handle this common problem I have, and I assume a lot of other people have on here as well.

In run into a lot of cars that I can't get to turn as well as I like, but also have a good amount of power over-steer on exit.

I usually attack the LSD to attempt to get wheel spin more under control.

Then spring rate (soften front, harden rear) to make the car turn better through the corner. My only problem is, on certain cars, I just can't get the settings right to make them turn, with out giving them too much power over-steer on exit.

How does everyone else handle this tuning problem?

The age old problem. :p Don't think there's a simple fix for this.

LSD accel lower if outside wheel is spinning on throttle application on corner exit. Add +ve rear toe to stabilise the oversteer, you could try -ve front toe to give more bite on corner entry.

Yes, I do Toe in the rear to help too, but sometimes I can get that up to .40, and I still power-over steer to much on exit, and I feel like that hurts the car to much through the corner. I will try messing with the front toe more.

How are you adjusting the spring rates? Because if you're softening the rear/stiffening the front in a bid to try and get less oversteer, you're making it worse.

Try softening front springs/stiffening rear springs, because in GT5 it appears the spring rates are back to front.

I am going to have to do some more experimenting when I get home from work...

So I have been messing with it, and for me at least, it is not reversed. If I put more rear spring, and less front, it gets looser. But on that not, I have messed with the LSD to make the loose condition controllable, and the shocks to help take it out. If you want to try my 65 GT350R I have been working on, you are more then welcome to add me, and I will put it online.

Well the springs have always debatable, I'm not going to open that can of worms again here, because it'll inevitably descend into an argument between a few tuners. Maybe PD changed it without mention in an update. I'm away for a bit, but when I come back, sure.

Well I went down the same road my my Shelby Cobra, and the shock adjustments really helped me off the corner, without tightening it up through the corner.

A few other things you could try.

Make first, second, and third gears a little longer.

ARB on rear at 1

Not sure what LSD you're running, but try 9/12/15 and work from there

...if you'd like :dopey:

I am starting to think that the problem I am having with some cars is not about been loose at all...

After sitting here at work for the last couple hours with car tuning on the brain, and I am wondering if I am having a its so tight, it is loose problem (not on all of them, some of them are just loose everywhere). The car is so tight in the middle of the corner I am overturning the wheels, then when I try to accelerate out I am turned to far, and the rear wants to pass the front... I have more tuning to do...

My suggestion, not being an expert, would be to do what I learned from Nomis' tuning thoughts. In this case, start on a new sheet (so you don't lose current settings) and set everything very squishy. Halve your springs and dampers from default, remove toe and camber, set the LSD open, minimize downforce if you have it. Work on one aspect at a time from there. Start with front suspension only and see how it affects turn-in. Then work the rear until its in a good spot and tweak the front if needed. Then move on to LSD, camber, toe, etc.

Working in this way I've been able to make a few cars that have given me headaches more manageable. Sometimes you get a bit in a rut with tuning that you need to start over and try something else to get some cars to work.
