Turn off alerts after posting

Any chance of a feature like this being added like Facebook? Say you comment on something and then it gets blown up with hundreds of comments you don't care about since you said your piece and don't want the frequent and frankly annoying alerts constantly appearing? You can go to the alert and click something that says "stop notifications for this post" or something to that effect.

It would be a nice feature to have, but it's not something I'll be custom-developing for the site. I wouldn't be surprised if it was added to the forum software platform core in the future, though.

There are some I "unwatched" that I get alerts from, It's really annoying, I like the idea of that though.
