Turn off those d*mn ghost cars

Well.. hello guys, my first post and sorry it's a complain.

I've been trying hard to find ways to turn off ghost cars for free runs in Arcade mode. (since I have Japanese version, I don't understand a thing!!) I flipped through several translation guides and couldn't find anything that says "turn off ghost car"!!

Here is where ghost cars could really hurt.. every time I want to set my own lap records in the free run mode, I see those annoying flashing ghost car images in front of me. due to the fact that the lap time will come closer and closer, I always over lap myself with the ghost car when starting a new lap, I kept missing my break timing, I couldn't see my perfect line, what the hell am I suppose to do?? does anyone know how to turn off ghost cars?


sorry but does this happen to anyone?? (I searched the threads but seems like no one had talked about this issue.. if they did.. sorry)
 
Well mile,... after you turn automatic update off,.... everytime you beat your fast lap,. it will ask you if you want to update the ghost,.. just say NO :D

Der Alta has the money ball though,..... select eh? Good one ;) Me likey.........
 
Ghosts seem to be off or something. Lets say I do a 1/4 mile time in 9.5. Then I do it right after and as i'm racing I will start to pass him and pass the line about a car length(maybe more)ahead of him and get pretty much the same time. Anybody else have this prob. I can get a worse time and still beat the ghost. But the 0-1000m ghost seems to be right.

At least now I won't have to have that ghost I accidentally saved on the S-8 license test constantly mocking me and distracting me... 3,523rd time's a charm!
