Turning off the HUD for the in-car view?

I'm a victim of Play.com's late deliveries, so I've yet to play Prologue.

I don't think this was available in the JPN version of Prologue, but I'm wondering whether they might have added the option for the EU release - the option to be able to turn off the HUD (or perhaps GT4's "Simple" mode), or even just turn off the Map, in the options?

In fact, are there any new things in the EU options screens that weren't in the JPN version at all?
 
I was going to ask the exact same thing !!!!

I have been playing this brilliant game for a good few hours already and love the in car view the only problem I have is that the map is over the rear view mirror ! When watching the replay of the race you can turn the HUD off but when actually playing I have yet been able to do it. I have searched all menus and it would appear you cant turn the HUDs off during racing. Am I correct ??

On another subject, is it just me or does anyone else miss the days of having bhp limits for races, so not only do you have to tune your car carefully but also racing is done to skill rather then just having a powerful car ?

Finally, for when the on line racing is all sorted out if any one wants to add me to their friends list for clean ' no bashing / ramming ' racing then my psn id is Bailes76. 👍
