Decided to revisit the Murci Night Race today (after a few months of putting it off), only to find the gate times and passing points I had recorded for myself all completely wrong. Did PD mention anything about changing the map for the Tuscan Night Race?

The new map is much twisty-er at the start while the old had a very long straight.

Pretty annoying, since all my reference points are useless now :ouch:

EDIT: Seems like the new map was introduced in 1.06... Guess it's been a while since I did the event. :dunce: Still frustrating nevertheless...

Apparent it changes every time you reload the race.

Not for the Tuscan Night Race Special Event, that map is the same every time. (Twisty start after 1.06 and straight start pre-1.06).

I remember doing the event before 1.06 (bronze), but I recently golded the event. I didn't even notice there was a change in tracks.. which one was easier?

I'd say the first, the F430 finishes with a lap time just over 3 minutes and can be overtaken over 30 seconds before finish. In the new map, the F430 finishes in about 2:49 and from what I've been seeing on YouTube, can only be overtaken a couple seconds before finish.

Kudos to you for completing it after the update :)👍.

Got any tips for others attempting it?

Hmmm.. I mainly focused on braking early and trying not to lose the rear under heavy braking. (The murcielago is horrendously unstable under braking it seems)
To me, I think the two key points would be

1.in the first part of the track, there's this left-hander that leads into a downhill->uphill right-hander that needs early braking. (Overtake the countach? right after) This corner is one of the most frustrating corner to get right. I usually brake before the game tells me to and instinctively counter right to catch the tail.

Oh side note, i put racing line on during this event because it turns into night time, there's nothing wrong with knowing where the course goes when you cant see

2. The second point that sticks out in my mind is the midway long straight. I overtook the F40 before the slight left near the end of the straight. Brake early once again because it goes into a tight right.

From there forth, its just a race against time. i caught the F430 halfway through the last corner and nudged him out of the inside line. I might have been able to make the corner without contact, but after about 2 hours, nudging is the safest way :P

Got Gold! 👍

These were helpful tips, thank you :)

Though I must say I did a LOT more late breaking than early braking. With brake balance set to 5F 10R and all assists off but ABS (which was set to 7), I finished with a time of 2:49.529.

If anyone wants the replay, just ask 👍

My approx. trap times:
0:24.899 Gate 1
0:37.212 Passed Countach
0:44.326 Passed 512BB
0:55.341 Gate 2
1:13.433 Passed Miura
1:23.310 Gate 3
1:34.645 Gate 4
1:42.283 Passed F40
1:48.056 Gate 5
2:21.893 Gate 6
2:43.450 Passed F450
2:49.529 Finish

With the brake balance of 5:10 and ABS of 7, the car allows for quite a bit of late braking. For wide turns, I drifted the majority of them, though if they're followed by a quick turn in the opposite direction, I broke early and kept full grip to the ground.

Thank you so much! Only these settings have helped me to pass this challenge for gold :) Thanks again ;)

I also just recently golded this event about 2 weeks ago. One trick I did was adjust the EV in the options to as bright as it will go.

Learn the track. After you have learned it, if you are not at 0:18.6 or below by the first split time, it will be near impossible to beat the challenge. Another point to look for, I passed the 512BB on the uphill, tight, off-camber right turn. I also passed the F40 on the slight left before the second slight left before the tight right (if that makes sense). I was around 6.5 seconds behind the 430 at that point. I passed the 430 with 4 turns to go and won by about 4 secs. I think once you get around the 430, it slows down a little.

Blonde moment - I have no way of altering the brake balance. Am I missing something?:banghead:

Everything has already been discussed on GT-Planet.....

even your comment has been published about a 100 times....

I'm saying take the discussion there, not the discussion is over and can't be added to. Since when is providing people a link a bad thing?:dunce:

Giullietta: you have to map it to your wheel or controller in the options menu. It's called the RA function.👍
