Im having an issue with my older Sharp 36" Plasma receiving HDMI from the PS3. The TV states "No HDMI output" put simply.

Things Ive done:
-Took the PS3 downstairs to my new LED TV and it worked just fine (Not the PS3)
-Used two different HDMI cables
-While on the other TV, swapped output back to the standard AV cables...then hooked up to the "broken" TV. It gave a picture so attempted to reset the resolution to 1080p via HDMI...it went blank again and gave the same error.
-Tried different inputs with no luck.
-Hooked my brand new slim PS3 and new HDMI cable to the TV with the same results.

Have not tried using a completely different system. Only other thing to hook up via HDMI is my wifes Wii that is still under the tree lol.

Is the HDMI ports on the TV done? The TV is about 4-5yrs old but has never had an issue. Thanks for your help:)

Could be the ports. I had an issue swapping between computer and PS3 which busted the cable, I know you said you tried a new cable so I'm guessing the TV ports are a fault.

If you frequently plug and unplug it may cause issues which is what I'm assuming has happened. Perhaps a TV repair shop could fit a new one for very little money, but I'm no expert.

You'd have have more luck in the electronics section for future record. This section is full of loonies! ;)

Ya I wasnt real sure where to put it...

I do plug and unplug quite often. I use that HDMI cable to test the other PS3s that I reflow for people. No good deed goes unpunished right lol. Funny thing is prior to this happening the TV had not moved and the PS3 had not been unplugged since before I last watched nexflix on it.(over 2 weeks ago)

Only thing I would say is make sure the ps3 settings are set for HDMI and the resolution. I had a problem sort of similar and it was just a certain ps3 settings change.

Ok....Maybe I did hook it up to the LED and dont remember it...I do swap crap around a lot. The Plasma is a 1080i and the LED is 1080p, I forgot that small fact. It is now working. I feel like an idiot now lol. Thanks for your guys help...appreciate it.
