i wonder if anyone can advise, I have recently purchased a nice new Samsung 48" smart led lcd to enjoy GT6 on as my old 40" died a death. However, I have an issue with the track surface when in cockpit view on some tracks at night. In particular Twin Ring Motegi and Daytona. The issue is the track surface under the headlights looks awful and I was wondering if it might be the tv settings I am using, I normally have the sharpness set to about 20 but don't know if this is making the track surface appear really grainy if you get what I am saying. It just looks more like gravel than asphalt or is it just on tracks with trackside lighting :( I know there have been lots of threads about general TV settings but could not find anything specific. Cheers all.

It's best not to use any of the TV's imaging tricks like sharpness, noise reduction, or motion/frame type controls for gaming. These all slow down the TV's response to the original input (in this case the ps3 - gt6).

As for your problem with the look of the tarmac... I think it's just rendered with less quality (to save rendering processes) as you're meant to be looking further ahead whilst driving where things are rendered in max quality.

I'm not a qualified TV calibrator, or game engine programmer... but I do have some knowledge on calibration and do like a picture that represents the (in films) directors intent.

Thanks for the responses guys, I have since turned my Sharpness setting to 0 which seems to have helped and had yet another play with the brightness and contrast, turned all processing off, think I have got settings about as good as they can be, have changed cockpit view to Narrower setting which seems to help somewhat :) problem is I am a bit of a perfectionist so keep changing everything, will have to hide the remote!!!!!!
