I was just wondering what you thought
I'm planning on buying a second car, a "toy" if you like. Only something cheap like £1,000 or £1,500 - I've been thinking about a MK2 or MK1 astra GTE or a Pug 205 1.9 GTI what do you reckon ?? jw
 
I don't have beef, just pork. It's annoying for us, especially the mods to see these threads taking up space. Seriously, next time send a PM.... :rolleyes:

I believe I posted in the Chit Chat section of GTP which is for chit chat and my topic is car related. Powerman gets involved when its nothing to do with him - and I said to delete the thread if you think its that offensive or wrong, but as it is chit chat about cars I didnt think there would be such a big issue with it

I'd go for the pug. It's faster. But If afterwards you have any dough left, get an immobiliser and/or Alarm.
 
It's still aimed towards talking with one person, which makes it pointless to other people. Thereby, making useless to be made into a thread, no matter what forum it's in.

Any Astra would be a complete shed now. They were sheds when they rolled out of the factory, and they'll be even worse now.

You say it's a second car: why don't you look for something completely impractical? I'm sure you could pick up a 1600 Caterham 7 for that sort of money. Now THAT would be fun!

Yeah too true, Although i'd suggest a Westfield, bit cheaper but pretty much looks the same and of similar quality of kit components.

I'd avoid an old engined one though (MKI or II escort), unless you're into home maintenance. I have some passing experience with kit cars (i have a Jago Jeep as a fun car) and i really would suggest that you get a decent tool kit, keep it with you at all times so you can bolt back on the bits that rattle off. :lol:
