Why do the numbers in the speedometer in cockpit view seem to decrease when you change gear? Is it a bug or is it like that in the real car?

Just watch when it changes gear. (the video is not mine, its just the first one I found when searching for the car)
 
numbers in cockpit are the revs; multiply them by ten and you get RPM. that's why it drops like that.
