Yes, after the yearly finale of JGTC, every year was hold a non-championship race since 1996 called "All Stars". In 1997, the non-championship race was held at Twin Ring Motegi. Even though the circuit wasn't finished till 1998, the oval was. They added chicanes at first turn and Turn 3, to prevent high-speed. It was a hard race, due to back then, the JGTC cars had a lot of horsepower. Some cars were spinning out, others crashed. The race was won at GT500 by #2 Nissan Zexel NISMO R33 driven by Aguri Suzuki and Erik Comas, while at GT300 class, the race was won by #27 Ferrari Club Japan Ferrari F355 driven by Tetsuya Ota and Anders Olofsson. The oval race was ommited as non-championship race next year, replaced by TI Aida Circuit (Okayama International Circuit), while the Full Circuit was added as Round 5 in 1998 calendar.
I would like to drive in a chicane layout of that Superspeedway. We already have the Speedway, so it won't be hard to add chicanes. :)

Here's a pic down there:
