Two cars you are forced to purchase if you want to run all the races in GT3. You can win and use prize cars for each and every race of the game excluding 2 series. You must buy some sort of Mercedes to run in at least 1 Silver Arrow set, because nowhere in the game other than in these races is it possible to win a Mercedes to compete in them with. The other car you must purchase is a Speed 6 because, for some reason, it's not a prize car anywhere in the game.

Close but no cigar eh? I was hoping to finsh the game without purchasing a single car from the car dealers.

I tried that, as well, but I didn't get too far before I realized that that lead to some "bazooka in a gun fight" races. So I ended up giving up that little bit of baggage.

I'm approaching the final 10% of the game, and have made my purchases. I've got a car for the remainder of the races I do have to run.

I picked up a Speed 6, an SLK and a Clio. I had to break down and buy the Clio, as the only way to win one is at the Super Speedway enduro. Not fancying running that multiple times to win a car. 3 cars to sweep the entire game.

43,400cr and a few less mind numbing laps around the oval. works for me...

Definitely worth it at twice the price.
Super Speedway is second only to the Test Course for boredom factor.

Man! You're crazy! Why would anyone want to do something like that??? ;)

Seriously.. I was wondering if it's possible to complete the game with less than 17 vehicles (one of which is a Formula car)... As of now, I plan on using that many, but if there's a (non-gameshark) way to win the Formula GT without a Formula car, I might try to use only 16. Whaddya think?

Best of luck to you, DT! Have a great drive!

Looks like I've used an actual count of 26 cars.

Now Hazzard, you calling me crazy is a bit like the pot and the kettle and a certain dark color. I may be crazy too, but there is a method to my madness.

I originally started playing GT3 when it came out. I probably put 3 hours into that game before dropping it for 6 months. Then I picked it back up and got to about 76% done. So, here I am with a game that's 3/4 over and I have 10 cars and less than two million credits...

That wasn't good enough, because I've always been an Online Racing kind of guy. I have a thing for sharked gamesaves too, just refuse to use them. This means that all the money one needs to get and tune cars for online racing (a substantial well of resources is required) is EARNED by playing the game if you're to do things my way and at the rate I was going, I'd have finished the game... because for some reason I felt strongly compelled to finish GT3... and in the end have practically nothing to show for it but some cars and a few stats.

So, I decided to start over. I'd begin the game with all golds, and use the prize cars to build a healthy stable of cars, keep all the prize money and finish the game having spent nearly NOTHING for cars and thus my substantial well of resources for Online Racing would be LIMITLESS MUH WHA HAA HAA HAA HAAAAAA!

And now, I Dolbytone, must go destwooooooy the Powuh Puff Girls!

special reason?

Well, in addition to purchasing the minimum # of cars to do so, I also want to use the minimum # of cars to get 100% game completion. Right now, I think that # is 17, but it includes the F687/S. If the Formula GT series can be swept with a non-F1 car, it might take that # down to 16 (it would have to be a car I already have scheduled to race).

I have a lot of this garbage on another thread...

That may not be a special reason, but it's my reason. :)

Have a great drive everyone!

LOL. Indeed, yours sounds like a familiar story. I'm now on day 49 of my 3rd gamesave (I saved over my original game), and am on my 2nd attempt at my "perfect" game. I was 175 days into my other one, where I had 18 cars scheduled to get 100%, before I realized I could've saved the use of my Xsara. DOH!!!

I started over again (again) too. Well, at least I now I have a backup game so I don't have to go for all license golds... for the 3rd time. LOL

Anyway, it's cool to find others who look for the game within the game. Have a great drive!
