Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this and I have had a look and a search and can't find the answer so i thought I would ask.

Last Friday night, a friend of mine came over with his PS3 and we eagerly put GT5 in and I opened a room, because there's no LAN option, and after a few attempts he managed to get into the room but after maybe one lap, it would kick either himself or me. We tried for over an hour to get a race and eventually gave up.

Does anyone know if the problem could have been two PS3s going through the same connection? I am not that technically minded so am at a bit of a loss.

Thanks for any advice.

hello. well me and my brother always play from the same room and we are both connected to the same router via wireless connection. sometimes we encounter problems but usually we have disconnection problems in a room with a good number of people. if we play just one on one we usually do not have problems of getting disconnected. i would suggest what others on this forum sometimes suggest and that is to port forward the ps3. i have not done it to mine but it should work. you do not mention whether you are using a wireless connection or a wired connection because that could make a big difference.

Cheers for the reply. It is a wired connection, never normally have a problem even when I have my pc, wifes alptop, my x-box and my PS3 all running thorugh it at once. It's a 20mb cable connection, it just seemed funny that it was happening in GT5 and none of the other games we played, GTA, Grid, Shift, Motorstorm.

Not sure how to port forward or what I would need to do, any pointers would be fantastic.

Cheers

Hello,
I to would like this info, as I have problems with my connection. It is wireless should I be wired? If I create the room the stability is great, but joining a room with 8 or more online I keep getting bumped off. I usually have my laptop on as well for tuning and never loose connection.
Thanks
