Hello everyone,

Just want your opinion, is it me or does the front end of the Subaru BRZ look some what alike the Toyota GT 86. Here are pics to check out. I'm planning to get the GT 86 at first but when I saw the Subaru, I'm now having a dilemma to which car should I purchase. I assume that both cars wont be a mile difference in specs and price as well.

Which of the two would you choose ?

Wait until you see the Scion FR-S.

They're the same car. All three were designed as a joint project, one that has been going on for three years and produced several preproduction prototypes and concepts, three of which (FT86 Concept, FT86 Concept II, FT86 Concept G Sports) are in GT5 (along with the GT86 production model). They all use a Subaru boxer 4 engine...

We've got an extensive news thread for the cars with a title poking fun at them for being exactly the same.

Time for badge swapping!

I've yet to make my decision but most probably it would be down to the Toyota and the Subaru *cough* Subaru *cough*, the Scion doesn't appeal much to me and is not that popular in my country. I doubt it will be even sold in my country, unless I get it on recon. Thanks guys, now I know why these cars look a like.

Cool thread.

In the US the Toyota will be sold as the Scion FR-S, which will be almost identical to the Subaru BRZ. My understanding is the Subaru will have more standard content and its suspension will be a touch more compliant. The Subaru is said to be tuned a bit for understeer vs the more neutral Scion FR-S. The Scion FR-S is expected to have a lower base price.

The cars are so similar that you might as well pick the one you like the look of most. For me the Toyota wins easily, because that black plastic lump on the Subaru bumper looks terrible to me.

This. We don't need to discuss how similar they are in another thread.
