Two things about Course Maker

Number one, it seems that there's no way to make a tarmac track without a long straight with a pit lane in it. Am I missing something or is this really the case?
Number Two, it seems logical that adding sections should make the track longer and adding complexity should make it have more turns, but it appears if you try to add too many sections or make too many of them too complex it turns into what essentially boils down to a bunch of straights with like 4 corners for some reason. Anyone know why or ways around these?

Hmmmmmm, no answers here but it sounds very discouraging as I was planning on making a course tonight.

The straight thing bugs me a lot because I want to make a crazy mountain track with pretty much no straights, just various styles of corners, but it forces you to have a straight that's longer than the longest straight in Tsukuba.

basically they really need to either take out this feature out of the game completely or do an overhaul of it so you can pretty much make tracks from scratch like draw it out by dragging a mouse on the screen by holding down x or something that would let us have a lot more control of what we want the track to look like and then actually go in it and add details do it like on a second screen

Or basically, you should deal with it until(if?) they patch it.
The track maker is still great fun and it's really not that bad just because you can't make long straights.

You can make a tarmac track without pits if you use the Kart template (Tokyo Bay or Eiffel), you can drive regular cars on it, just crank the width up.

I don't know why it does this, but there seems to be a limit to the total amount of complexity (For example, you only seem to be able to make 5 out of 7 sections have a 10 complexity or it goes kaplooey.) I haven't found any way around this, just something we'll have to live with for now.
