Right before anyone has a go, ive searched and although theres loads of stuff on tyre wear there isnt anythign I can find on this topic.

If you buy tyres such as super soft slicks say, when they wear out, after the race, do you have to go and buy another set.

I ask because under the sports tyre bit it says something about "service for life" whcih I took as if they wear then you get replacements for free. Is this the same with racing tyres.

Oh and also wear does tyre wear come into the game. Im still in the first league and i dont seem to experience any. Is it only on longer races such as endurance?

cheers

Tyres, Tyres, Tires......

Tires are yours for life. When you get into the longer races you will see the tire wear indicator in the lower left corner of your screen. But once you buy a set, they are yours forever. The only wear is for that one race, and when you get to the next race they are magically new again.....

I hope this helps.

I'm trying to think, but I don't believe I've never had to buy super softs. Set the car up right, stick on hard slicks, don't worry about the opposition getting away in the first couple of laps and you'll be fine. :D

Axel - Ya, that's great when you're running an endurance, but the Super Softs make life alot easier (more grip) when no tirewear is on.

So, all of beginner and most of Amateur....

When I was starting out, I almost always saved up 'till I got the $$ for the SuperSofts. Now, I don't bother as much... but it helps at the beginning.

But OUCH! what a price jump from GT2 to GT3 for the SuperSofts.

Yeah, tell me about it. In GT2 they were like $18,000 (and they actually lasted for a good bit). Now they're a major ripoff, costing nearly $50,000, nearly triple the price of some cars! On top of that, they don't last a good 2 or 3 laps, so they're virtually useless for simulation mode.

I bought a set of super softs for one car I have I think. I am not going to try and figure out what each car has. Anyway, I used that for the races without tire wear on. Some races in Amateur and all Pro races and Endurance races have tire wear of course. You will soon discover this new addition to race strategy soon enough! Good luck!! :burnout:
