Could anyone tell me which options i should have off for the best drift, like keeping stability management and trackion control on? I just cant get a good one going =\

hmmm, I have TCS and ASM both off. just gotta tune your suspension right and have right tires, the rest is all up to the driver and their experiences. At least thats all it is to me.

well, if i had just gotten the game, i'd spend some time earning up a LOT of money first. You're gonna need it. Unless, of course, you're cheating. And I'd then I'd buy a good fast top speed car. I used the Mitsubishi 3000GT. Then do the test track a bunch of times on the Amature level. That should get you enough money. While you're saving up to buy that fast car i was talking about, that should give you enough driving experience to get used to how the cars act around turns and things like that.

Thanks for all of your help. Thing is I suck so much i cant get pass one of the beginner cups....All thanks to my damn ps2 controller. Hopefully ill be getting a wheel tomorrow.

i know it wont solve them, but it will be easier and alot more fun.

It will not be easier, at least not at first. The wheel takes quite some time to get used to. When you get the wheel, do the license tests with it. That will help you get the hang of it. Personally, I use the Dual Shock, and I drift just fine. It is not the controlers fault. It just takes a lot of seat time, and a good understanding of techniques........

This is correct IMHO. It might seam easier at first, to leave the TCS on 1, so the computer helps you, to not spin out. However, this can be a problem, because you are constantly fighting, to overpower the computer, and it can make longer drifts much more dificult. Furthermore, it's just a crutch, and can be solved with the use of proper throttle control......

Well.....going back to entry techniques.....weight shift is probably the key here. If you dont get it, here's weight shift in a nutshell: First, you start out in the middle of the road. When coming up on the turn-in point, turn to the outside. This puts the weight on the inside tires. When you get to the turn-in, snap the steering back into the turn. This moves the weight back to the outside. When all the weight scoots over at the same time, it breaks the traction of the tires, and the car starts sliding. If this does not work well enough, tap the brake at the same time as the turn-in. This will put the weight at the front, so the rear wheel is easy to slide out.

Example:
If its a left hand turn
1. start in the middle of the road
2. about 40 m out from the turn-in, head off to the right side
3. turn in at the normal point

Hope it helps :)

hmm i tried that, but it seems i never get to the counter steering part, i usually just slide to the outside or get through and it looks crappy.

hmm...if you don't get to a point where the car oversteers and requires countersteer, then you arent sliding much.....

You might want to try slicker tires first off. Lots of people would suggest heading for the Sims, as they are the slickest and are supposed to mimic real-life tires. Then, try more abrubt and extreme steering changes to throw off the car's balance and get it sliding. Harder steering should help especially at lower speeds.

But if you are sliding, but just ending up on the outside wall, try slowing down a LOT. Drifting isn't the fastest thing in the world. In fact, it's pretty slow. I usually go through a turn 1 gear below the suggested one (the blinking red number).

Then, there's just practice. Try out poking the gas/brake at the beginning and middle of your drifts just to see what it does. Some around here would suggest the hand brake, and WRC drivers do use it IRL. However, a lot of other people would denounce it as pure evil. Personally, I don't like it as it forces the car into neutral/clutch in, so the revs drop off unless you hold the gas too.

Keep up the practice and have fun. Hope I've helped at least a bit :)

Nah i dont use this pc for anything but watching anime and playing go. Although i do have a webcam, but it doesnt do well in my dark room, and its not a light problem.

Bought most of the stuff on one of the guides for my 86 Trueno and now its perfect. I took the big turn on training mountain really good until right around the exit i oversteered.

Actually, i can beat most skylines with my 3000gt. (on any track) the only person i've met that i can't beat is my cousin. but he plays the game non-stop. and besides, i said he needs a good top speed car. my 3KGT tops out around 256 and that's plenty to beat the AI racers. Don't get me wrong, the skyline is a great car. I just happened to choose the 3KGT cuz it seems like the majority of the people that like cars are obsessed with skylines. I just wanted something different.
