nope. it was on a video of rhys millen explaining how his GTO is tuned in comparison to some of his rally cars and he explains things like his break balance controlelr andlight weight tuning. Its on www.samuraifiles.com

I'll look for the direct link but i know its somewhere on that site

yeah, i saw that video of rhys explaining the GTO, if you do join, don't just join samuraifiles.com to get videos, contribute to the forums <8- )

blah, i cannot use chase cam with the wheel. hood cam only for me. makes it more realistic. irl when your drifting, you arent 3 feet behind the car, nor are you sitting in the bumper. i dunno about everyone else, but i feel where my back end is.

I use the hood cam as well, actually... Also, with a wheel the bumper, or hood cam, are the most immersive, and satisfying, methods for drifting in my opinion... Still you can't deny some of the advantages of the chase cam... It may not feel as good, but it gives you obvious visual advantages...

you say its not possible to follow the turn in a video game. that statement is wrong. right for gt4, but you said video games in general. there is an accessory that certian games utilize.

My apologies... I know of the accessory you speak... I have seen a video of someone using it with LFS... The immersion alloud by such a device is only slightly less profound than the advantages it allows the player...

heh just picking, but i get your drift.

I am positive of such...

Yeah, hood cam all the way for me, Something just feels weird about the bumper cam in this game. And what accesory are you talking about? You mean the look left and right feature that games like TOCA 2, NASCAR 2003 Season, and GT4 in bumper cam view with the wheel have?

No...

There is a virtual reality like headset, that has a motion sensor on it, which allows you to look anywhere, and the in game camera will follow... It's quite spectacular... Only a few games support it, I understand...

i agree, i cant deny that chase cam does have some advantages. but to me it seems like the cars reaction to my steering inputs is a bit delayed IMO. maybe its just me, or maybe its the game, not sure.

it works well in live for speed. :) it takes some getting used to though... but it realy makes the game feel much closer to real life. its a bit easier to know where your going when your sideways. and it also lowers your chances of getting in an accident in one of those famous LFS battles. gotta love the gan-san immitators.

I can do "manji" on decent straights, its not too hard, the hardest part is timing the slides for the next corner. I was having lots of fun on Autumn Ring II (see my vid) and i think i did some manji, though not as crazy as that vid .

Or you can switch to the exterior view...In real life you can turn your head to follow the turn... Since this isn't possible in a video game, the exterior view can give you a huge advantage... You can see the line, angle, how far your back wheels are from the rumble strips, etc... Not that it's 100% necessary, but it can help when performing high angle drifts...

;)
That's where you wrong, I founf something by accident with my DFP, if you hit the L/R buttons on the wheel (The one's like on the DS2) it looks out the side of the car...

Be kinda hard to do while drifting, but the possibility is there. ;)

thats unreal, i so want to be like that now, in real life! but i think it take forever. plus i cant do it in my skyline, must buy another car

Actually, I did know about that... It's just not very useable... Nice idea, but not very well implemented...

 I do it on TOCA 2 all the time while in the in-car view and drifting. It's hard to get used to, very disorienting, but on high angle drifts it's pretty realistic to do it. The hardest part is finding the stupid button while turning the wheel.

A better form of this is what EA Sports did back in 2001-2003 with all there NASCAR and F1 games, the camera automatically turns slightly in the direction that the wheel is turned (in 1st person view) to recreate the drivers head following the road. Again this was somewhat disorienting, but once you got used to it, it was pretty realistic.

I had a go (2.2mb) at it down midfields straight and linked into the 1st corner, Its not really difficuilt to do what i just did but to get max angle and be able to do it consistently, would be hard.

I have read online that if your old enough you can find a track to drift on... maybe if you master drifting in a real car, you will be able to do it in GT4... well that's what my brother did! ROFL!

Hey Gabkicks, long time no see. It's DoriKin, from LFS. How's S2 treatin' you?

Anyway, to this thread, I say, /point signature.

One said he invented it. Its think is fair to call it Ueo style who else can faint with that much angel, that good.

yeah, i hate it being called ueo style when he didnt invent drifting like that, he just does it cus his car has no power :P when he drifts higher powered cars, he drives very smoothly like taniguchi. but its ok.. whatever :P

whoever said he invented manji link drifting needs to be soccer kicked by cro cop.

So I was drifting on Grand Valley Speedway, and I decided to do an UEO STYLE drift down the short straight between the second and third corner. Then after the tight hairpin I drifting the next corner and used the UEO STYLE to keep my tires spinning for the next drift.
