Ugh, enough with the rain already

It rains way too much now. All the tracks with rain it ALWAYS rains. The Le Mans 700 it hits the blue every time now. I love running WTC 800 Championship in the Zonda and P1 but now it even rains in that (Spa and Le Mans). The new Tokyo 800 is ridiculous, need to run inters the whole race. Wish we could disable the weather. Sorry, had to get that off my chest. 😑

I don't like the torrential rain that makes racing near impossible. But other than that, rain gives hard needed variation when just a few races give good payouts. Long live rainy Spa and Le Mans.
That fine but not EVERY time you’re on those tracks

You can take advantage of the rain by anticipating it and pitting early. You will need to zoom out to the max on the radar.

Even if you misjudge the weather it’s still possible to set decent times on wets with patchy rain. If it dries out your biggest worry is keeping the tyres alive. Although you should be able to make the end.

I run Spa for the payout and have my car set to max the possible PP with IM tires. I run those through the entire race unless it fills the rain gauge halfway or more, then I switch to wets and never look back.

I've done the Le Mans race over 100x and have encountered some races where no rain occurs and some where there's only light drizzle. You might just be going through an unlucky phase.

The rain/showers tend to come between the 10 and 15 minute mark and can be heavy - I've encountered monsoon-like conditions on the rare occasion where the radar is nearly all purple but this is very rare. I don't bother with IM and just stick with HW in case the rain comes back with a vengeance.

I’m thinking unlucky phase. Just did it again and end of lap 2 through lap 6 was a monsoon in the blue crawling around on inters 🙄 but I’ll keep on it. Wish Red Bull Ring wasn’t always raining as well but it is what it is.

I recommend having HW available and using those instead because if you have TCS on 5, you can race at a good speed even in a downpour. Yeah, they degrade quicker when the track dries but the AI goes super slow in the rain so you'll have a huge lead so it's worth it.

I’ll try the HW/TCS. I can win easily enough just the heavy rain is annoying. Thanks!

It certainly is annoying. I normally pitted as soon as I saw rain approaching the track (I keep radar zoomed as far out as possible) and changed to HW. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes the rain is only a drizzle. In the heavy rain situations it's hilarious especially if the heavy rain arrives just after the AI start a new lap as they slow right down and on these laps you can extend your lead by 2 minutes!

Yeah, it’s really crazy blowing past them trying to anticipate which way they might spin 😂

And with a big lead you can pit for IM or even RH's to run the last two laps.

I use the Red Bull Junior and only have to pit once for 6-7 laps. The car is incredibly economical and handles brilliant even with TCS off. Usually if I have a large lead, I only pit to refuel and change tyres when the rain comes. I start with RH and change to HW or another set of RH if there is low-to-no rainfall.

Awesome, never tried the RBJ

The Red Bull Junior is a brilliant car - in fact, all Red Bull cars are. I use the Red Bull X-whatever for the Sardegna road track because it handles fantastically and is super economical (one pit at the end of lap 8). The Red Bull cars aren't the fastest but they are lightweight, nimble and cut through the corners really well.

The rain ruins the 2 Nordschleife races in the game. It often rains but the amount is unknown and then you get halfway into the lap and it starts pouring and you have no hope if your on slicks. But then I'll start with rain or IM tires on and it'll be dry or a slight drizzle. I'm fine with rain but just let us see a forecast before the race and remove the speeding up of time causing the track to become drenched in just a few seconds.
