Ugh. I hate these.

Lately, Ive been getting these annoying pop-ups that really annoy the crap outta me. I did full Virus, Ad-aware scans, ans Spybot: S&D scans. And it finds absoutly nothing.

Methinks that the problem lies within the registry somewhere...

Actually, believe it or not, what you're getting is from a flaw in MS Windows. In the windows xp services, there is an item called Messenger. It must be disabled. Check the Blackviper link in the tweaking thread for detailed instructions.

Xp and 2000, mind you.

But, yeah, that's what it is. Simply disable the messenger service.

yep - you also free up about a meg of memory usage by disabling the service
