Well, here's my two thoughts on the subject.
1. You have an 'unusual' program installed that has Jpeg's set to it as the default viewer, which seems to be interfering with IE, or Netscape (or AOL, and the list goes on...) I'm on a win98 machine right now, and if you open a folder, I see that under "folder options" and then the "file types" tab you can see what is controlling Jpegs. My PC runs on Windows XP, so I can check that later if you like (That should cover you if you have win2000) You can change your setting that way.....
2. Go into your internet Cache. (if you don't know how to find it, open the toolbar in your browser, hit "tools", then "internet" options", the "general" tab, then under temporary internet files, hit settings. That will tell you where they are located. Once you have that sorted out, go into that directory, and try sorting by type (then look for Gifs), or sort by size. With the 27K imposed limit, they will most likely be all in the realm of 25-27K.
I hope that helps.
