I was going to add in pics to the relevant races, but short on time atm and the results have been done for ages, so will add them in later (possibly..)

Event comments:
I had planned to do this at the first GT5 LAN, but we ran out of time, however it was first scheduled for this weekend and I enjoyed it a lot and I think overall opinion was good. In 2.09 the XKR would have undoubtedly had better results. Maybe try and swap out the Maserati for something else that is slightly better matched on performance next time.

Overall car results:-
BMW M5 '08 – 64 points (Four wins and only one driver didn’t put it on the podium, me)
Audi RS6 Avant '08 – 59 (Two wins and only one driver didn’t put it on the podium, but he won the event!)
Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '06 – 52 (One win, five podiums overall)
BMW M3 Coupe '07 – 40 (One win, one other podium)
Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG (R230) '02 – 36 (two podiums, VEXD and hfs both with second place)
Chevrolet Camaro SS '10 – 33 (two podiums)
Jaguar XKR Coupe '10 – 25 (one win, homeforsummer, one of the fastest cars in practice, but handles like a wet dog on laminate flooring in the 2.08 online physics)
Dodge Challenger SRT8 '08 – 24 (one podium *coughs*)
Maserati Gran Turismo S '08 – 18 (only car without a podium, horrible thing)

Event Comments:
WeÂ’ve had quite a lot of post-event discussion on this, I think it was generally agreed that there were too many custom tracks, as they generally have similar characteristics with regards to road cambers and general pace of the circuit compared to original and real tracks. One of the options being discussed is utilising the three tuning setups and having the cars tuned to three different tracks and using each tune an equal time, there were some performance differences between these cars as the results show. We then went and did a few races around Grand Valley East Reverse and they were very, very close. Some flaws in the format and be interesting to see which solution we go with.

Endurance Spa Francorchamps 30 laps

Our endurance car for this year was the Roadster TC (DLC), racing tyres, driver has free pick of tyre choice, compulsory pit stop.

1 – HFS (Tyre choice: Soft, Soft)
2 – Roo (Soft, Soft)
3 – daan (Soft, Soft)
4 – Sureshot (Medium, Soft)
5 – Famine (Medium, Soft)
6 – dhandeh (Medium, Soft)
7 – Venari (Medium, Soft)
8 – VEXD (Hard, Soft)

Event comments:
Track was probably a bit too long, we normally use street circuits for our endurance and we just spread out too much, some constant battles between HFS and Roo and Famine and dhandeh. The car was good, but who knows, might just try out a slightly different similarly powered race car for each LAN. Also, bring back the bus stop.

At this point of the event dhandeh left us (traitor!), we moved on to the final event of the weekend, a Lightweight MR Handicap.

MR Handicap

Cars:
Suzuki GSX-R ‘01
Autobacs Garaiya ‘02
Lotus MotorSport Elise ‘99
Tommy Kaira ZZ-S ‘00
Opel Speedster Turbo ‘00
Dome Zero ‘78
MG TF160 ‘03
Toyota MR-2 1600G ‘86
These cars were stock (apart from MR-2 which had a racing filter) and on Sports Hards. Race winner drops two cars down and second and third drop down one.

LAN comments:
First LAN I have hosted, and the first one weÂ’ve had in 18 months, it was an utterly fantastic weekend, as they always are. There was some exceptional racing throughout and near constant laughter that you come to expect at our silliness. Homeforsummer has carried over his speed and consistency in to this LAN and as a group I think weÂ’re even closer matched than in previous years. It was great to be able to invite a new member to the group in dhandeh, fitted in well and had some very good events and races. Second to fifth in the overall standings were covered by just three points.

Am also working on my own random track generator.

I had initially planned it to be with 11 drivers, in the end we had 8 and 2 more who pulled out late-ish due to other commitments, I'm glad I hadn't made the numbers up to 11 or it would have been very tight. With 8 we all got in to the front room, 3 more could have gone in the back room, but it wouldn't have been as sociable.

Thanks for writing up the results, 'boss. Was definitely a great event and thanks again for hosting.

A few random thoughts:

1) What, the Tesla was supposed to be on softs? Almost certain mine was on hards, like the other cars...

2) Deep Forest in the Kerfuffle was actually one of my favourite races. Was dead chuffed with how quick I was able to go in the Focus, despite wrong-wheel-drive.

3) I'd be happy with the next mid-engine championship being entirely done in MR-2s in low states of tune. Was great fun.

4) I still need to send Roo his trophy...

The Tesla was on hards too. It's lethal.

The endurance tyres, from my far from complete memory were:
HFS - S/S
Roo - S/S
Me - M/M, changing to M/S at the stop
PC - M/M, changing to M/S at the stop
VEXD - H/H, changing to S/S at the stop
Venari - H/H

The endurance tyres, from my far from complete memory were:
Venari - H/H
- Ret...

... because I was extremely annoyed that I was more than a pitstop down after more than half the race, and the guys on softs hadn't pitted! That isn't supposed to happen, and thanks to V2.09, it might not again!

I'm afraid that it's time to do something about the wild inconsistency. Watch out.

Sureshot: And if the Tesla you were driving was on softs, that explains why you got enough of a lead off the start that I couldn't draught you, and seemed to extend that lead at every turn!
