Welcome to the Ultimate GT5 Championship.

Please join up!

This championship will start in the middle of April, to find the ultimate driver in GT5, and will consist of races testing a drivers skill in various disciplines. Points will be awarded to the fastest qualifiers and the top 5 finishers, and the races will consist of 14 competitors, a safety car, and an official (who will not race.) Prizes will include any car of the winners choice.

Series to be used will be, at the following venues:

Formula GT - Monza - 73 Laps.
Rally - 90 Minutes based on a test session to be held.
NASCAR - Daytona 500
Super GT - Suzuka - 50 Laps

All venues and details can be changed, added, or removed at any time up until the date of the first test session which will be held at a later decided date.

Therefore, competitors require a Formula GT, a rally car, a NASCAR, a Super GT, (NISMO GT-R, Lexus SC300 etc.) and a DTM car. Any car may be used for the Endurance race except for the Red Bull X2010 in all variants, the Formula GT, and other cars deemed to be unfair to race in.

Tests and qualifying sessions

At the end of March and the beginning of April, 3 x 1 day test sessions will be held at London, Toscana, and Fuji Speedway, using the Mercedes SLS AMG. Test sessions will decide which competitors will be allowed to compete.
A week before the first race, a pre-season test session will be held in any car a competitor wishes to use, up to 1000hp. Competitors may, in the event they are unable to attend a race, nominate up to two relief drivers to collect points at that event for the driver unable to compete. Qualifying sessions will last 30 Minutes and begin 40 Minutes prior to the start of the event. ALL Competitors must arrive in the selected lobby 45 Minutes prior to the race, or if they wish to skip qualifying, they must arrive between 10 minutes and 3 minutes prior to the race. The lobby will be considered CLOSED at the 3 minute signal. At the Endurance race, two Qualifying sessions will be held prior to each heat.

Rules and Regulations

The Safety Car

The Safety Car will be driven by a nominated driver, and will stay in a position at the end of the pitlane after qualifying in a deliberate last. Drivers must not attempt to hit the safety car at any time, and when the signal from the official "SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED" is given, all overtaking must cease after the next corner, and the safety car will proceed slowly round the circuit to pick up the leaders. Any cars not in the lead pack may pass the safety car provided the safety car is off the racing line. If some competitors are lapped, after one lap the signal "LAPPED CARS MAY NOW OVERTAKE" Will be given, and lapped cars may, if they wish, pass the safety car without overtaking other lapped cars, and proceed round the track to join the back of the field. When the signal "SAFETY CAR IN THIS LAP" is given, competitors must prepare to continue racing, however may not exceed 15 seconds behind the safety car. Cars may overtake the safety car once it has passed the first safety car line, and may overtake each other at the Start/Finish Line. In the event the safety car is deployed on the final lap, it will pull into the pit lane at the end of the final lap, and cars must slowly proceed without passing each other to the finish line. The safety car will be deployed in the event that there is an incident requiring immediate attention, or dangerous driving is displayed by more than 3 competitiors at one time, in order to restore order. It will not be deployed in the kart race, however immediate disqualifications will be handed out to those driving in an unsportsmanlike way.

Flags

If the signal "BLUE FLAG - COMPETITOR NAME" is given, the nominated competitor must move off of the racing line, as they are about to be lapped. If the signal "WHITE FLAG" is given, it signals that a competitor is driving slowly due to a fuel or mechanical problem, or attempting to drive dangerously, and to warn other competitors to be wary. If the signal "BLACK AND ORANGE FLAG - COMPETITOR NAME" is given, the chosen competitor is warned of a mechanical problem, and should pit within 3 laps. If the signal "PIT STOP PENALTY - COMPETITOR NAME" is given, the competitor must enter the pits within 4 laps, take on 0 fuel, and change tyres, for aggresive or unsportsmanlike behaviour. If the signal "BLACK FLAG - COMPETITOR NAME" is given, the competitor must pull off the racing line, and slow down, as they have been disqualified, pull into the pits, and finally line up behind the safety car in its parked condition at the end of the pitlane. They may also quit the race if desired. Competitors may be disqualified for endagering the life of other competitors, ignoring a Pit stop Penalty, taking on more fuel than allowed at a Pit stop Penalty, or extreme aggresive behaviour. If a driver is disqualified 10 points will be struck off their total and no points scored at that race.

Points will be awarded in the following system:

Pole Position: 5 points
First: 15 Points
Second: 9 Points
Third: 6 Points
Fourth: 3 Points
Fifth: 1 Point.

This system is subject to change at any point in the championship.

Teams

Competitors may form teams of up to 3 competitors, at the start of the season, before the pre-season test session, to count towards a separate Teams Championship. All competitors in a team must paint their cars in the same colours. If a teammate scores pole position in the race, 5 points will be added to the teams total. Only the best two results from each race will count towards a teams total.

Practice

All competitors may, but are not required to, compete in a one hour practice session on the Friday of the race. Finishing positions will not count towards the championship. Competitors must practice in the car they intend to use for the race.

Suspending and/or resuming a race

If a race is suspended due to a high amount of disqualifications, an accident, or extreme weather, then the signal "RED FLAG - RACE STOPPED" will be given, and cars MUST not overtake, and MUST proceed around the circuit at a speed less then 60 MPH into the grid positions that they are currently in. Once every competitor is on the grid, the safety car will drive to the front of the queue. If the incident can be ended within 5 minutes, then the race will resume after another 2 minutes with the signal "GREEN FLAG - RACE RESUMED." The safety car will lead all competitors round one lap and pull into the pits at the end of that lap. The pitlane will be closed to everybody except those in the pitlane at the red flag signal. Disobeying this will result in a Pit-Stop Penalty. If it is impossible to resume the race, results will be taken at the Red Flag signal.

Tyres

Before the start of the season, tyre specifications will be sent to each competitor. Not using these tyres WILL result in instant disqualification.

Wildcard Driver

At the kart race, with the absence of the safety car, one wildcard driver will be allowed to compete. This driver may join teams with only one or two competitors only. All points scored will count towards his or her respective team.

Prizes

If a competitor wins a race, they can select any car they wish from my garage. If they win the championship, they can select any car out of the game and I will get it for them.

Thank you for reading this. If you wish to participate, write a reply and I will put you on the list.

I think you would need multiple officials to watch cars, because it would be hard for one to do it all.

What days and time are we talking

If it was multiple officials, it would mean less racers, but I get your point.

We're talking Sundays, around 1pm EST. Trying to get loads of people interested though.
