Take a race car, something like a Jaguar XJ9 on El Capitan (Normal)and follow similar race cars through the tunnel and down the hill to the bottom. Then get the car turned around and wait. You'll have to time your collision point but 2 or 3 tries will yield some savory reults. At full speed take the car through the first right, then left up the hill. With any luck, you'll clip the other car as he comes over the hill. The result will be a good 40 feet of airtime, maybe more. If you miss, you can do up to a full 720 degree rotation before landing unless you clip a car on the way down as you're rotating mid-air. Obviously this isn't for everyone, but me and my 5 year old daughter just can't get enough of it!

 hahaha I kind of like crashing too :) Now take that same fast car on El Capitan Reverse, and dont bother slowing down going up the hill before the tunnel. Just floor it! You'll launch and hit an invisible wall (too bad it won't let you go off he cliff here hehe) and land with some great smoking spins! it wont do much for improving lap times, but it sure looks great in replay!

That's the move I'm talking about. That's where you do the 720 action but if you are going the opposite direction of your opponents and time a collision at the top of hill, there's even more magic to be found.
I also like nailing cars coming over the hill at Leguna Seca as well.

wait....wait....i am tickling my arm pit...now i am loughing...hihiihihihihi lol :)
Liar! Eveybody knows its impossible to tickle yourself!:sly:

It loses much of the effect with no damage modeling, but I've used the straightaway on Sarthe II as a high-speed crash site. I'll wait at one end of the long straight until the cars enter the opposite end, and then I'll floor it. Somewhere in the middle we'll meet up with a combined impact of close to 500mph. Unfortunately, we don't get off the ground, but rather get knocked backward several hundred feet. I've even sat in the middle of the road and watched the computer cars slam into me at full speed.

Maybe I'm too easily amused, but I also get a kick out of running into those pylons and watching them fly down the track.

Actually, I accidently launched the Camaro LM off that very jump last night. I was running the All American Championship and I was chasing down the Panoz GTR. On the first lap I tried to outbrake him on the up side of the Hoopdiehoop where it turns left over the crest... a fraction of a second too late. I got massive air and without the invisible fence it would have been death at the bottom of a rocky gorge for sure.

1 quick reload later, and I didn't try that move again.

I've always liked Citta di Aria reverse. When you get to the long uphill straight. Just keep it floored and stay next to the right wall. You'll FLY up and if lined up properly you will swoop around the left hand curve all in midair.

You should suggest the "Hoopdiehoop" as the official name of that, Duke.

Yeah, I have had this move happen to me once or twice on El Capitian. I think mine was during the GTWC in the Minolta. :scared:

That's it, I'm trying that on the Sarthe tonite! I was thinking of using the Totyota 88v over the curbing in Trial Mountain as well. Oh boy, I can't wait!

Best crash scenario I've experienced so far... a friend and I are racing RX7 LM's on Laguna. It is not a very serious race, and it turns into a bit of "tag you're it". I get tagged, and now it is my turn to do the tagging, so I chase my friend down, up the hill to the corkscrew, and that's where I make my move. My friend dives on the brakes and turns left to go down the hill, not having any idea that I am headed right for his driver's side door...

at about 170MPH.

He never knew what hit him.

TAG!

YOU'RE IT!

Resurrecting a bit of a dead thread here but I've got a few crash sites I'd like to mention.

Trial Mountain - Last Chicane grass bank can be used as a take-off ramp.
Cathedral Rocks II (can't remember if its forward or reverse) - take that last jump at full speed and go flying.
Cote d'Azur - Go into the 'Twilight Zone', drive underneath the track until you fly back onto it.

and last but not least...
Test Course - Fly into the wall (with a good turn in) at 200+ mph

There are a few examples in my (rather bare) gallery:
no tcs needed's gallery (of horrors)

Yeah,on trial mountain take-off ramp is helpfull :),especcialy while launching a Fiat 500 :D

Ha, sometimes I like to do this on Super Speedway. I'll get a quick car, one in which classes with cars like the Speed 12 and NSX-R Concept. I'll go the opposite direction of the other cars for about a lap or two, dodging them and whatnot. Then when I come up to the first straight, I'll collide with cars at around 200mph. Pretty fun if all the cars are close together.

i tell you what i do-go on the speed ring and get a fastish car and reach a speed of over 190-stay at the bottom of the ring then on the tightest bit of the ring vear up to the top section and hit the gate at the top and you will go filying and flipping!!!

Agreed! Save replay and go to photomode to see how high!

lol Funny that I read this now. I was on the high speed ring for the Like the Wind race in Extreme hall. My black R92C was tuned with minimal downforce and low gearing for very high speed... the makings for a disaster. I was doing well and I about to lap the yellow car early in the 5th lap.. forgot what that yellow car is but anyways it was going maybe 220-230mph on the turn and I am barreling in at 285 drafting the car for a major boost of speed. Well I misjudged it a little as the draft pocket really boosted my speed fast and he was going so slow. I was about to slingshot around and I clipped the corner of the bumper... The car veered and I couldnt control it. It slammed into the wall and flew up into the air BIG TIME! All I saw was sky for at least 3 seconds then slammed into the ground spinning violently for another 5+ seconds in a diagonal pattern.

Still I was so far ahead that I pulled the car around and finished the race and STILL lapped that yellow car slingshotting around him in front of the finish line. I went to look at the replay and see the crash. OMG I have never seen a crash like this in GT. GT has a very evident glass cieling so the cars can't fly or roll over. Well I broke any ceiling that I have ever seen in GT4. The lowest part of my car was a good 10 feet in the air just soaring like a bird and turning. When it finally hit the ground and side rail it still had so much speed it flew into a diagonal helicopter spin for probably about 20 revolutions. Was the craziest thing I ever seen.

So if you want to see a crazy crash... I highly recommend the high speed ring with a low downforce car. It launches like an aeroplane. :)

EDIT: OH DAMN!!!!111!!1 I didnt see page 2 of these posts and burn rubber's pic! Thats crazy lol OK my crash wasn't that good, maybe 5 feet lower.

Hi all,
Take something quick like an audi R8 on test course and at 210mph slam the barrier on the first bend. Car starts spinnin like a 7000bhp turntable. Then watch the replay. It is funny seeing a 4,500,000 credit car one wheeling.

Have fun
P.S. Crashing is fun!!!:cheers::)

It's not a very dramatic crash, but the end of the 'ring's long straight in a Formula GT car on red tyres is, well...interesting. Especially when it is not planned...
