Drifting has become one of the most potent styles of driving to his the motorsport circit for a long time now and I think that it is about time that sombody wrote a giude not for the specifications to make a car driftable but actual styles of drifting racers really use.

Key:FF-Front mounted engine FWD e.g. Honda civic.
FR-Front mounted engine RWD e.g Toyote Supra
MR-Midship Engine RWD e.g sw20 MR2

KANASANI DRIFT
(used for high speed corners)
This particular form of drift requires a lot of commitment: definatly not for the faint harted.When entering a high speed corner the driverlifts of the throttle just as he is aiming for the apex.This causes the wieght to transfer to the front wheels, creating oversteer.Once the tail is sliding, the driver can control the angle of drift with the throttle and steering lock.
Best suited for MR

BRAKING DRIFT
(used for low speed corners) After the driver has slowed down for a tight corner,he/she can use 'braking drift' to induce oversteer.When approching the apex the driver will tap the brakes to unsettle the rear
Best suited for FF or FR

THE ULTIMATE DRIFT GUIDE PART 3

FEINTIO DRIFT/SCANDINAVIAN DRIFT
Used for chicanes or hairpins.
Heavily used in rallying the
FEINTIO DRIFT/SCANDINAVIAN DRIFT relies heavily on using the cars momentum to get the car sideways.Just before the where the driver will turn into the corner you rock the car in the opposite direction with a short turn of the wheel (just shift the wieght)
The shift in momentum will throw the car into the corner.

Best suited forFR or MR

PART 4 ULITIMATE DRIFT GUIDE

SHIFT LOCK
Often used on the entry to the corner.The driver slows down the car as ussual but rides the clutcg on the down shift. During the turn the released to cause the rear of the car to break away
Best SUITED FOR FR OR MR

P.S I now there is no clutch in gt3 but i thought I put it in for any real drifters out there. Anyway If you get the idea just compinsate by riding the gear in to the lown revs before accelerating or you can enter the same way but use the handbrake.

HANDBRAKE DRIFT
Using the handbrake is the most common way to introduce drift.
Handbrake drift is applied by quickly appling the handbrake at the start of the turn in and is never applied constantly but can be used to control drift.
note: if the corner is entered to fast the car will go into a spin so I suggest you practise if you wanna do it in a race.

DIRT DROP DRIFT
dirt drop drift is another technique derived from rallying, The drift is applied by placing the outside wheeloff the road to break traction.The buety of this techique is that u wont lose momentum.
however, it is very likely that if not aaplied correctly you will go fling into the wall in a cloud of dirt.
Best Suited for -ALL

JUMP DRIFT
is the oppisate to dirt drop drift in that you drive overthe inside kerb or ripple strip to upset the traction at the rear.

THE FINAL SECTION OF THE ULITIMATE DRIFT GUIDE

POWER OVER
"power over" is japlish for power oversteer. If your car has pleanty of horse power, simply plant the throttle on the exit of the corner to create wheelspin. Dont try this on the entry of the apex as it induces understeer.
Best suited for-FR or MR but the gt-r v-spec2 is mad.

Thats most of the drifts i can think of right now but a Im shure that you'l all find your own way to drift.

Just for Begginer tuners I'll Give you a few tips for making a good DRIFTA , if your cash straped the best idea is a silvia with Sports brake balance controler, lightwieght flyweel and triple clutch. A Stage 1 0r 2 turbo if you can affort it. Also sim tires are good for drifting

As you aqquire more money buy the full suspension and the power upgardes so the h.p is between 300 and 400.
