Unable to do GT6 updates

So I'm trying to update GT6 to it's latest version but now it's simply refusing to update. I managed to get it up to 1.07 (the one just before the Senna update) before but updating to 1.08 gave me an error halfway through. I then went through the entire A-Spec career offline before trying 1.08 again and still getting the error. I think I read somewhere that deleting the updates and trying again would fix it so I deleted both the updates, game data and both my game saves but now I can't even get 1.01 done as it gets to around 60-70% and then gives me the error. I've tried installing numerous times but nothing appears to be working.

I think you have to delete all GT6 data ( except game saves ) and start again from the beginning, as if it was never on your PS3. I've found that connecting to your router via an ethernet cable helps immensely, as does having fast internet. When I was getting 3 to 6 mpbs at the console, reinstalling all the updates failed miserably.

You are installing the updates one at a time, correct?

I had a similar problem, after contacting Sony support the issue turned out to be due to connection speed, momentary slow downs at my ISP caused the update to fail, trying again late at night when demand was at minimum fixed the problem
