i hate it! everytime i try to drift a corner my car (any FR) will always understeer, specially on that corner after the long straightaway on Trial Mountain. i can never drift that corner because any FR car i use it always understeers, i cant even drift. it's really annoying. btw all my aids are off and i tune my cars for drifting using the settings depot on this site. i seriously dont know how to drift after braking since the car will always understeer, i dont know how u guys do it but ill be grateful if anyone tells me how to prevent understeer before drifting a corner.

Oh god...

This question/issue.. has been discussed millions of times.... Please search the forum before posting.

An answer to your question.

While approaching the corner slightly turn to the inside line, then jerk your car back... causing loss of traction.. trail across to the other side of the road (outside). then jerk your car back once again (inside).. drop a gear, and walla you have a beautiful entry, have steering half lock (oppopsite way, ofcoarse).. this will keep your car steady, and ease your throttle through the corner.

- There are many of techniques you can use.. but this (feint) should get you started.

Timing is cruicial to obtain the best possible line for the corner, but it all comes with PRACTICE.. and it will edventually be habit.

I can not stress PRACTICE enough , PRACTICE, PRACTICE,PRACTICE

(i have no way of explaining things, but if that makes sense to you then.. )

-Close this cranker down.---and if someone else wants to step in and explain it much better than i, feel free to do so.

slow down and feint...o yeah SLOW DOWN

Aids off, N tires on, soften your rear suspension, feint it, floor it, countersteer, back down on the throttle and you should be set. And um.... slow down before the corner.

I don't think it's understeer. u're carrying too much speed into the corner. The moment u start drifting, ur momentum just carries u outside... :P Happens to me loads of times too. When learning a course, just start slow. I usually start on stock to find out how fast I can go, then I knock up my BHP and have a go...:P

slow down before you start turning. or do a feint and then brake after turning back to the inside and the car will start to slide from the momentum.

y dont u jus use tha handbrake? i get bad understeer alot whilst drifting 2....give tha handbrake a quick tap so tha wheels will lose traction

In my opinon...Not to be harsh around people or nothing, but use people's settings that you mostly see on GTP. "Famous" People here. For instance, Boundary Layer (TS) DT_C, a lot of people, Delphic Reason, their settings worked for me when I started...

I deal with this on my AE86 all the time.

Option 1: Feint/Inertia Drift
Option 2: Initiate yhe turn right before oyu let go of the break, that way the weight shift of the car is maintained to the front, letting the rear tires slip.

If anything though, inertial initiation all the way.
