Hi there everybody,

I'm am pretty sure that such a thread had been posted quite a while ago, but as of now I cannot seem to find that one.
I was thinking of cars that you've rarely or even never in an online room.

Cars that came to my mind were
Scion xA/Toyota Ist
Scion xB
Renault Mégane Coupe
Nissan Primera 2.0 TE '90 /Primera from '01
Alfa Romeo GT

Would love to hear you impressions on that. If the above mentioned thread still exists feel free to delete/close/merge this thread (@mods).

I agree with you. I love seeing people using cars like the ones that you mention. Usually people abuse GT-R's, DLC cars, X1's and they are rarely seen using regular cars that most people take for granted. I think that most people just care for speed and power, and not the actual fun that driving in Gran Turismo is all about.

From your list, I like the old '90 Primera, but I've only found the Infiniti version so far, and I like the original JDM model the better.

Cars that I usually use online that I haven't seen other people using are:

-Toyota Celica SS-II (the '97 model I think. The one that has the round headlights)
-Toyota Carina ED 4WS
-Subaru Legacy GT 3.0 Wagon
-Peugeot 406 Coupe
-Alfa Romeo 166
-Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
-Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4 (I wish we had the Galant version of this car instead)

And others. I'm still searching for more common cars in the UCD as we speak.

Peugeot 206 WRC
Hyundai Clix
Mine's R34 GTR
Ford Lightning
Gran Turismo R34 GTR
Pontiac LeMans
Any and all Alfa Romeo's

-Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M '89
-Toyota Tacoma X-Runner
-Eagle Talon
-Pontiac GTO (the Monaro's twin brother)
-BMW 330i E90
-BMW 120d
-Audi S4 4.2
-Mercedes SL500 R129 (I love this car for some reason)

All of them mildly tuned.

That's quite interesting as I often tend to use the cars you mentioned or atleast from time to time - but you're absolutely right although I'd admit that the VW Scirocco is actually a rare sight to me which might be an exception of the DLC though.

Any and all Alfa Romeo's
Sad but true :(

-BMW 330i E90
-BMW 120d
-Mercedes SL500 R129 (I love this car for some reason)

All of them mildly tuned.

The BMW's & the Merc are also one of my favourites if decently tuned :dopey:

A factory fresh Yellowbird on Comfort hards and a heavily tuned yellowbird. A Honda Step Life Van and a 62' Skyline completes my list of cars you don't see enough.:)

Pretty much any rare car color. Red chevelle, black nismo r32, red Audi r8,etc.

It's funny you bring up those 3 exact cars and colour combos due to me just recently buying a red Chevelle and finished tuning my Nismo and R8.:)

Any car with less than 276 BHP.

And when they're rarely being used, people strap on racing soft tires and complain that the cars are boring to drive.

I'm always killin m3s and the like in my rx-8 type s. The Toyota altezza is a capable car also.

Not sure if rare or just not used but I was drifting a 300sl. You never really see anything that's not relatively new. Usually the various Silvia's, Z's, Supra's, RX7-8's and M series BMW's.

Whenever I go in a lobby I'm the one thats not using X1s hacked cars. I try to use my slower cars even though I get rammed half the time.

The only car I've never seen online, apart from when I've used it, is the Seat.

I sometimes use mine when I feel like using it.

Its rare to see an MX-5 in an online lobby. When I'm in a lobby, I'm usually the only one with an MX-5

The Range Stormer, the second heaviest vehicle in the game with ballast, is suprisingly, never used at all.

I drift the MX5 all the time when I go on the track many people get their Miata out as well for some reason :sly:. I guess they're rare in race lobbys...

My Honda BEAT Version Z can win in 400PP lobbies if pushed to the limit.

I think I can go one further for a underused 400pp car, my classic 62' Skyline finished in a very nice shade of purple and sporting 200 Hp. :)

Often seen in cruise lobbies :indiff: Not sure about other lobbies though.

The older Toyota Aristo, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Lancia Stratos, Honda Accord Coupe '88 and Honda Prelude variations :)

I've bought some of my favourites from the original GT and their new variations. These are cars I rarely see online. Some of them I don't even see being used but, I'll be using them:

OLD(standard)/NEW(Premium)

'99 Viper GTS(there's no '96 version)/ '08 Viper SRT10 ACR
'93 Honda NSX/ '02 NSX Type R
'95 Honda Civic SiR-II(EG)/ '08 Honda Civic Type R
'95 Lancer Evo III GSR/ '07 Lancer Evo X GSR P.P.
'96 Skyline GT-R V-spec LM Limited(R33)/ '12 GT-R Black Edition
'96 Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi Version III/ '10 Impreza Sedan WRX STI
'00 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupe( no '90s V12 version)/ '10 V12 Vantage
'96 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo( no new model)
'97 Toyota Supra RZ( no new model)

Sorry for the double post

Any car with less than 276 BHP.

I find them awesome to drive. Stock power, adj. susp. Lowered all the way with factory spring/damper/anti-roll settings. The cars roll dive and squat like the cars from Gran Turismo 1.

Whenever I go in a lobby I'm the one thats not using X1s hacked cars. I try to use my slower cars even though I get rammed half the time.

Exactly what I do. I'm there for the joy of driving with 15 other people instead of trying to win at the first corner melee.

Ford Taurus SHO '98
Peugeot 307CC AVN '04
Any standard Kei-Car (Alto Works, BEAT, Carol, etc.)
Basically any sub-100hp car.

I did come across a guy running an Alto Lapin Turbo online though, but he was an idiot.

When I read this the first corner of Nurburgring 24h came to mind. :sly:

When considering the game as over 1000 cars i'd say there are atleast 900 underused cars. But that is maybe not totaly true either, since there are a ton of cars that are A)really ugly in both model and graphics and B)just too slow.

Mind you, slow cars can actualy be fun on those indoor Kartspace tracks.

i'll be honest and say i don't drive normal cars very much. I love sports cars and race cars, wich allways have been my major atraction for the GT games. Especialy GT and LM cars i think are great. And sportscars like the Corvette, Viper, Saleen, V12 Vantage.
I do drive a varied number of cars. But the most used is probably the ZR1 'RM (C6R wannabe). It's just a sexy beast, but hard to tame.
