I bought the mini for the seasonal event. I changed the oil thinking it would boost me a couple of hp but it gave me a 10hp boost 166hp to 176hp putting me 4hp over the limit for the event.

Can I burn off the oil? So far 3 B-Spec runs on the mini challenge have not decreased hp even by 1hp.

This is really dumb. In all their qa and beta testing no one raised this issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No, because it's intended to be that way. Read the description on the oil change :D

Sadly I have to tell you that your max power will in fact RISE as the engine runs in, maybe you should let Bob run the car in a long-ish endurance race?

No offence dude but there's been loads of information about this on the threads I've seen in the past few days about oil changes, it's quite a hot topic.

You just have to keep grinding until the condition of the oil deteriorates and reduces BHP.

What's the Mileage of your Mini - has the engine been ''run in'' yet..??

Drive about 300km's (186 miles) and the car will be back down to around dealer purchased HP. Or.... just buy another, Mini is only ~32k.

So far it gained about 1hp :)

I'll just buy another. It's just silly that I should need a new car because I changed the oil. Fortunately it's not a 20,000,000 cr car.

It will gain up to a point, then it will drop fast (around 300km's).

concider yourself lucky, i was half asleep and pulled the same "school boy error" with a nascar, WHOOPS 500,000cr down the drain,

Bob will help you out.

Just send him out in the car and a few 100 miles later the HP will be lower.

My stratos (fav online car) goes from 256 hp to 251 in about 500 miles.
