Uneccessary Blow Offs?

Ive noticed that when Im using a turbo charged car and I go around a corner at full boost, and run pretty hard over the rumble strips on the inside, that the blow off valve vents a couple times, and also if I come out too hard and kiss the wall pretty good, the blow off vents again. Now in my mind I understand a turbo charged car pretty well, as that I drive one on a daily basis, but the venting of the blow off valve is caused when the throttle plate closes, and it vents excess air in the upper intercooler pipe. Well what Im wondering is why the car is venting when I hit a wall or go over the rumble strips when I never let off the gas, or close the throttle plate. I know that hitting the wall would cause a loss of boost because my rpms would fall and that the boost would need to be built back up, but that wouldnt cause the blow off to vent, as well as going over the rumble strips.. What gives here? Anybody have an answer for me or something Im looking over?
:odd:

I'm pretty sure PD didn't program such horrendously complicated physics into blow-off valves, and merely set a sound clip to play at flagged events/RPM values/whatever.

I would guess that PD has programmed the cars engine and power to respond to traction. When you ride the rumble strips you're bouncing the car off the ground. This causes your RPM"S to go up and increae pressue on the turbo. Hence the blow of valve noise.

Can I further make a guess that you're running the car suspension bottomed, and the springs really tight (high number)? Probably have the bound/rebound up to 8-10?

Just a quick thought that occured to me....... like you say when you hit a wall or go over the strips your RPM's go down...... well if they go down somewhat quickly maybe the boost pressure is alittle bit higher because the RPM's dropped and making the pressure in the intake tract higher than the BOV is allowed. Thats my only guess.

Your guess is wrong, this occurs with a car completely untouched with suspension

Switching off the electronics will most likely fix that.

Isn't it so that in the game when you turn, your car loses grip and then the electronics react.

Maybe the reaction of the electronics would be the same as taking your thumb off the gas BUT since you didn't take your thumb off the gas you suddenly will get an acceleration again when the electronics stop working for a second.

Thus resulting in the blow off valve sound appearing when you are still pushing the pedal to the metal.

I've only noticed this when you are using traction control. When you ride ripple strips yes your will lose traction intermittenly, thus the traction control reacts as it is getting grip then slip then grip etc.

If you've ever owned a turbo car with a blow off valve (relief valve) you will know that even when under acceleration then back off even just a bit it will release pressures as it is suppose to do.
