Unexpected Outage / Maintenance 10.31.11

Anyone experiencing long 'connecting to server' messagethat times out and says GT5 is undergoing maintenance.

Yep, from what I can see, not mentioned anywhere. I've got the Maintenance Notice as well. Probably everyone does.

Ive got no problems, Had a little blast around the ring with someone not more than 10 minutes back

Update: just loaded up a room successfully. The entire game went slow including menus for about 10 minutes. Then snap everything back to normal. Definitely a server issue that will be sweep under the rug. Possibility services were restore so quickly as a redundant backup system automatically kicked in, However on such an enterprise scale you would expect this event to be seemless and routine.

I've been having a whole host of different online problems in GT5 over the past few days, including sudden incompatibility with a host I'd been racing with for hours, not being able to connect to the server at all, and indefinite loading of tracks.

Never had any problems like this before, and I'm 100% sure it's not my internet connection. I hope PD corrects these issues soon. Although saying that, perhaps that's what the 'maintenance' was for...

Hey, you never know with servers these days. Where I work we deal with servers all day and if one starts to fail, we can switch to a backup. It can take 10-20 minutes depending on the problem, but it never seems as fast as the primary. I hope it's only a minor glitch.

Positive, I just tried the High speed ring seasonal too. And I only got 210,000cr instead of my usual 420,000 with the 200%.

Hmm, I'm not sure then, I'd try quitting game and restarting.

It seems like if you are logged in to PSN when they reset the servers (maintenance), you lose your login bonus until the following day...

Hmmm... maybe they need to clear the daily login database when they reset the servers - or something.

had this happen the other day when my internet dropped for about 10min, same maintenance message, but unfortunately you have to wait till the next day to get your bonus back.....

Why don't you try and log in? There is no scheduled maintenance today, so they are most certainly not down.
