If you watch this video:



At about 5:15, after the first race is completed it prompts the player with This screen:

So, you might have to restart your FM4 game to get the unicorn cars.

EDIT: Also note in the video as soon as he does import his FM3 file, the "Unicorn Hunter" Achievement pops up:

How are people able to get anything in the 7-figure range, let alone 9-figure:scared:
I should put my HKS up for 2.5mil; that's what the Acura LMP1 car(s) go for in the dealer.
 
I went from 1900cr to almost 700k in a few hours doing Rivals events, gaining a 50k bounty multiple times, then some 100k ones.
 
The cars that were in the VIP pack can transfer over to FM3, and some of then are unicorns. You don't have to own a unicorn in FM3 to get a transferable unicorn in FM4.

I never had a unicorn in FM3, and I now have several FM4 unicorns in my garage, because I transferred them over.

I believe the correct term for the excessive money gain is "cheating" and they're being dealt with with the banhammer. Just proves that even a petty crime like cheating at video games attracts lots of idiots. Come one people, it's been a couple days, there is no way you can have that much money. Buying those unicorns for that much money is like punching a police officer in the face...and then handing him your driver's license. I would also suspect that everyone that bid over maybe a couple million would receive bans...People always seem to forget that bids are tracked on auctions.
 
I have a Lamborghini Superlagger and a Ferrari F430 scuidra. Some oneoffered 2million credits for the Ferrari!!!
 
I have 12 million credits and i didn't cheat but even if I had the money i wouldnt buy one as the previous poster has stated it is a trap set by the developers. Unfortunately importing them over from fm3 doesn't get all the unicorns either. I had every car that was available in fm3 including all the unicorns and they didn't all import to my fm4. the s15, both mines skylines, the hks evo didn't import over. all of the other ones did but those didn't.
