nah, I've done it to the ones at school - my super strong magnet sometimes left marks on the screen for a few minutes at a time but it was nothing that a restart couldn't fix
Would you ever do that to your monitor? I think not!

Back in 6th and 7th grade me and a few friends took a computer app class.
Bye some point in the year I had figured out how to delete almost all the files on the iMacs we were using, and I mean that I somehow removed the delete-protection for every file on the hard drive. I think I wiped out at least 5 brand new iMacs this way.

Nearly as much fun was doing something that would cause an admin to monitor our accounts, then start writing disturbing and frightening messages in text files. Oooh, and we would make gory flash movies and play them in loop on every screen while the rest of the class was still in lunch. When the class would come back, we would be coming in with them to watch their reactions.

This just happened to me about a month ago where my mom demonstrated her staggering lack of technological knowledge:

Mom: Can you help me get on this website?
Me: Just open netscape, go to google and punch in whatever you're looking for.
Mom: What?! That's so complicated! What in the world is a google? Go and help me right now!!!!
Me: Oy...

My mom does not know what google is. True ignorance.

I played some pranks on my friends in my programming class. Try turning the contrast on the monitor to 0. Inept people will freak out. Or, try creating new wallpaper. A good one is moving the my computer icon to a random place in the screen and making the wallpaper tiles of my computer icons.

I'd post more, but my mom is being a b*tch again.
