Im American, so obviously ill use mph. I know how to convert to kmh and vice versa, but i still use mph. When i use kmh in racing games, i feel like they exaggerate the speed you're travelling.

ill tell you a crazy story i experienced in forza multiplayer. 3 european players told me to "drink bleach" and "commit suicide" because i used mph and not kmh. i wasnt offended or anything, i was giggling because i got insulted over a unit of measure.:lol:

I live in the USA, but I'd prefer driving in metric... Don't know why but that's how international racing goes...

HP (Imperial)
HP (Metric)
Watt

Which do you use? I unfortunately still use HP for measuring engine power, even though it is slightly different between Metric and Implerial, and not a proper SI unit. Old habbits die hard.

So living in the uk, mph is my unit of measure and with zero hours spent driving abroad I was curious how do other countries compare, I mean how do other countries write their road signs? Not done much digging, just the closer EU countries, I'm slightly disappointed to discover that equivalent speed limits are generally higher.

Could I change though? Would I want to change, I dont think so.

I use kmph have always used mph until some one mentioned that kmph had more units of measurement than mph and i tried it and improved my times. Although when flat out i don't look at the speedo it's all about listening for revs to change gear, brake points, curbs etc

Yes by having kmph instead of mph i could for example try to take a corner at 59 kmph instead of 36 mph. 58 and 59 kmph can show as 36 mph and that 1kmph can make a little difference.
I've heard others say this but I always find the speedometer moves a little too fast in kmph to read it accurately in the middle of a corner.

Not if you want to maintain a constant 59km/h through a corner instead of 58km/h for more than a brief split second.

@Peasantslayer, @zzz_pt

I think your both right, i changed to kmph from mph and found it help improve my times. Some may find the opposite. On my fastest laps i don't look at the speedo. I ain't fast nor a expert so i could be wrong in saying using kmph is better than mph.
