For my understanding, the term "Chevy" is used to denote any Chevrolet. But my friends keep telling me there's a certain Chevrolet called "the Chevy". I can't find any pictures on the Internet, so I thought I would ask you guys. If I recall correctly, however, is that it is smaller than a Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. As far as I could see, it didn't seemed like a Corvette to me. I believe it had an SS badge on the back, in the middle. I know it doesn't say much, but I hope you can help me with the little information I'm giving you. Thanks.

It sounds rather like your friends are morons.

Well... (and being a stiff-assed limey, feel free to correct me, United Statesians) 'The' Chevy can me the classic '55 to '57 or 'Tri-Five' cars.

Alternatively, there was a car marketed as 'The Heavy Chevy', but this was indeed an early 70's Chevelle, although not the SS, just the cooking lower spec models, braodly speaking.

There was a 'Chevy II', which was the predecessor to the Nova. Look it up to be clear.

But 'The Chevy' meaning one thing? No, not really.

Ah, I see Venari beat me to it, but here's the Chevy II, which also became the Chevy II Nova, then just the Nova:

It is somewhat confusing, because despite being called the "Chevy II" there never was just a "Chevy" model as the predecessor.

This is it! 👍 It looks just like it, thanks Venari 👍

By the way, Famine. It doesn't rather sound they are are morons, they are morons. It's a term that has become national, can't change it right now. Thanks for "contributing" to the topic, along with you, Duke 👍

It's always nice to have theories confirmed :D
