Nicest part of hell
Hello,

I just have a very short question to motorsports fanatics, I am searching for a car but I cant remember the name of it. (google didnt help either)

Its the group-C car that first appeard in 1983 at the WSC at Nürburgring. It had a black color sheme, I am pretty sure it was BMW's first attempt to get a decent group-C car; it was driven by H. Stuck afaik. Dont remember its position.

Does anyone know its name?

Thanks for any help. :)

Wikipedia doesnt list BMW in its Group C topic, and I've never heard of one.

Could it have been a Sauber C6 or C7?

The race announcer of the 83' WSC at Nordschleife said it is a BMW, I know a lot of group-c cars but I never knew that there was a BMW until I watched the Video I just downloaded.

If it helps, he also mentioned that the BMW has a sponsor that sounds like ''ceyca'' or ''caycar''.

Only thing on Hans' website relating to 1983 was him driving a BMW M1 in the German Racing Trophy. I'm assuming you have the "full version" of the clip-its on youtube from the "Nurburgring WSPC Race 1983", so I'm not sure if checking them will be beneficial. However, it says in 1982 "This year sees also the inaugural season of the Sports Prototype World Championship, with Walter Brun in a Sauber SHS C6 Ford." Perhaps the commentator was merely mentioning that Stuck was a BMW factory driver. The Sauber SHS C6 Ford article on youtube gives insight into its performance at Nurburgring in '83 available here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauber_SHS_C6 hope that helps.

I'll try to investigate this one.

This is the Sauber SHS C6 Ford that H.J. drove in 1982. Perhaps this will give you a clue as to the 1983, I didn't look very hard but I couldn't find any thing from 1983 to your description.

EDIT 2: For the purpose of saving my butt, a BMW powered Sauber C7 is also likely... though the more I research the more I find BMW powered oddities lost in the Group C era.

EDIT 3: SEHCAR C6!!!! HAHAHAHAHA! "ceyca" or "caycar" is spelt Sehcar and it was the name of the car! Like the Sauber SHS C6, the Sehcar C6 is powered by a Ford THIS was a version driven at Le Mans by a Canadian trio including the brother and uncle of Formula 1 legends. As it turns out there were more than a few Sehcars out there. (Or at least, it is highly likely this is the car ;-) )

Maybe it was a BMW engined TOJ, like this one?

Was it open top like this?

Yeah, seems to be Sehcar heh.:)

However, the car that appeared in WSC 83' was not powered by a Ford engine, it used a 3,2L BMW with a porsche Turbo.
The car was completely destroyed after some laps, as far as I can remember it crashed at the flugplatz. The driver survived the crash with an broken arm, the only thing that survived the crash was the rollcage. The engine, the whole front with axle and windscreen completely ripped off the chassis.:scared:
It was the car with black color sheme, poor car, it looked very cool and it made the 7th fastest qualifying round.

Yeah, I remember the SEHCAR appeared in le mans too, It even wasnt that bad.

Yes, if you are interested I can PM you the place where I got it. :)

Thanks for finding the car! 👍
