Hi,

I saw a strange symbol on my screen while racing the eifel track in the seasonal japan gt event. It was in the top left corner just under the lap and place counters. It looked like kind of a horseshoe and a drop of liquid with dashes underneath. Has anyone seen this or know what it is? Ive never noticed it before.

Thanks to the community for adding to the enjoyment of the game.
Cheers!

I believe that is indicating how much water is on the road surface.

Exactly this. Going from 0 to 100%, helping you to decide when change tires from "normal" to "intermediate" or "rain" ones.

This symbol only appears on tracks where it can rain :dopey:

It is the Wet Surface Percentage. I was confused about it as well, until I saw it had relations to rainy conditions. All it really describes is how wet the track is. It does not increase in quick, drizzly weather.

Oh, interesting. Thanks guys! Now that i think about it, i think it did have a 0% next to it. Good to know!

While we are on the subject...
At what percentage do you racers decide to change to intermediate, then to full rain tires? How much of a factor is the time lost when pitting for more suitable tires?

At 20% I change to Intermediates, 40%+ I change to full Rain.
It depends, on B-Spec, you're doomed if you don't change tires but also the fact that everyone pits nearly the exact same time means that the time change factor is unaffected.
A-Spec I believe you can push a lap or two further gaining time on opponents making the time lost in the pits as minimal as you can make it.

Usually I would wait until the Surface reaches 50%. That is when I switch to Intermediates, only if the conditions are only drizzle. If it is a tsunami then I switch to Rains.

I second this.

I only change tires when I find it too slippery. Under 50% I switch to Intermediate, over, I switch to Rain. It really depends on the competition as if it is at 45%, I'll go with Rain sometimes.

To put it in a nutshell, you have to try what you think is the best for you ;)
